So I'm 16 years old going on 17 , I'm a junior in high school . My grades aren't the best but there not the worst and lately I've been really scared of going out into the real world . i don't like school i never have , i have struggled with math since i was in kinder-garden but I'm a pretty good reader . I'm not interested in huge money making jobs i just want a job that's pays good and that i like to do lately i have been thinking about highway patrol lately but just haven't decided . So maybe some fatherly advice from some older men would be nice .

Hi Zack, I'll get this going with some brotherly advice from a college grad who's been working mostly on 15 years after. Lately, the 'real world', beyond school, hasn't been all that friendly. You can have friends in it, sure, but in what I'm doing now I can see a lot of hurt and disillusionment. It's the kind of thing that if I didn't know better was calling my college diploma worthless, my job experiences worthless, that there's no room in the world for someone to train someone else on the job to do things. I know that's not the case, but liar can really get me on a roll of thoughts like that. I strongly encourage you to finish out your high school education and walk with your friends and hold that diploma. If it helps at all, don't think of school as a place you have to learn things you don't care much for. Think of it as a place where you are teaching yourself to learn new things and learn how to apply them whether you like them or not. It's training for your brain. You are training yourself to step out into the world, learn how that scary world is, how it can impact you, and you it. You are learning how to survive. Follow me? It's not about the numbers or how much money you'd like to make- it's about how flexible you can be in doing something 'right', doing it how others want it done, and then doing it with your own personal zing and signature on things. Don't look to this world to make you Zack. That won't happen. Keeping God first in your life, and staying in fellowship with brothers and sisters your age, older, and younger will really be helpful. This world will not tell you who to be, and how to be that person, nothing. Fixing your eyes on Jesus as you run your race... no one can take that away. I hope this helps some, brother. I happened to like math. On that note, you've got to team up with some other on those subjects- group homework sessions, studying for tests. It's always easier if there's several somewhat smart people sitting around a table to figure things out than just one person. OneJohn410 quote:
