my college aged child has a friend who feels he may be transgendered, like he should be a girl. he is a Christian and this causes a tremendous amount of guilt for him. my child asked me last night was he sinning because he felt this way? i am just sooooo not sure what to say. any help or thoughts at all are appreciated. i could not find any scriptural reference, except that men shouldn't dress as women and vice versa.

Many people have feelings or emotions that cause them grief, and can cause others to have concern for them. The best you and your child can do is pray for this person, and pray they are protected against those who would use him as a pawn to help forward an agenda.

I don't feel comfortable giving you an answer as to whether this person is sinning or not. If this is something he fights through prayer and does not give into the temptations that arise from it, I would lean towards saying no. If this leads to things that are clearly forbidden in scripture, then I would say yes. We all have temptations due to the weakness of the flesh. Dwelling or acting on them is where sin either gets a foot in the door or runs wild.
