No, but that's because I've been really slack lately and not got a lot of (personal) mail out in a timely fashion, and I don't want to mess it up for everyone.

J got a 'Wow!' off his English teacher this week because he handed an assignment in. I don't know if I should cheer or cry.

It does make you wonder, doesn't it?

I had someone come through work today who really broke my heart. Most of the time I can come home after a day at the office and leave it all behind. Tonight I needed a cuddle from dh.

J had handed in an assignment early because he wasn't at school last week to know the due date was extended. His teacher gave it back to him with some suggestions. Tonight he sat and reworked the entire thing.

Well, at least the teacher was decent enough to give him suggestions so that it could be worked on better.

I thought it was really decent of him too, especially since J has been such a pain/frustration to this particular teacher up until this term.

Time flies when you're having fun. I just got an email from a friend to say her baby is 7wks old. I didn't even know she'd had the baby yet.

Her SIL is also pregnant and I think, in my mind, I'd just averaged out the timeframe.

Well, it certainly is going fast. The junk mail I read yesterday said 6 weeks to go until Christmas. I really didn't want to know that.

Three weeks left until the end of the school year.

We really need to go shopping for J's birthday present... and soon!!! We're planning to get him a violin.

I'm just getting in my mind how long Christmas is away, let alone who soon the schools will be letting out!

We have school let out, J's birthday and Christmas almost on top of each other.

Wow! Mid-December and I've really lost track on this thread.

School is now out. X got Dux of her year.

I have been having a busy time of work with a lot of new sign-ups and having some health issues. I need to organise an ultrasound and a colonoscopy tomorrow after a doctor's appt late this afternoon. And I still have a physician's appt coming up in January for another issue and a gyno appt later this month. It just all seems to be happening when I've been relatively healthy for several years.

My doctor gave me a gentle lecture today about not going to the hospital last week because of the pain I was in. I guess I know next time that if the pain gets bad I should go, but the doctor who originally diagnosed the condition which is causing the pain (2 years ago) never explained that it can be that serious.

J is getting a blue, electric violin from dh and I for his birthday. X got him a 2Mb MP3 player.

And today I found out that the music school we were going to send him to to get lessons will be moving several suburbs away next year which means I'm going to have to do some research in the next week or so to find a new school.

Wow, lots of things happening over your way!

Congrats to X on getting dux. A lot of hard work goes into that.

The violin sounds great!

Yes, I just have to wait for dh to get paid before I can pay for it to be shipped.

I have found a new saxophone teacher for him. Still nothing on the violin. And nothing on the flute for X yet either.

I had the ultrasound today. The hernia has grown 2mm in the last 2 years. It sounds like a tiny amount but it's a huge difference in the pain I am experiencing.

I have two doctors' appt on Friday - gyno and visiting my GP with the results of the ultrasound.

Dh leaves for Adelaide in the morning. I'm not entirely happy. He's got to be at the airport at 5am and I have to drive him there.

I've never had a hernia before, but I've seen what John's gone through. He's had 2 double hernias, and thinks that he has more. We try and get him to stop doing things that will exacerbate the problem, but he won't listen.

I can imagine it would still be painful even though it is 2mm bigger.

I hope your medical appointments go well.
