Likewise!
Need to ask for more prayer - a friend just found out that his only remaining brother (other one killed himself 20+ years ago) was injured in a work accident and probably won't live. My friend is freaking out because he'll be the last one in his family line, and there are all sorts of issues at play here. I want to cry - because I can feel his pain.
Thanks for the prayers today - I'm working at home now....dad's appointment went fine, thankfully! But, I'm beginning to see what my brother has been talking about with dad - he's losing his mind as well, and that's got me pretty upset too.

Please pray I make a wise decision on my next move (in a few months) and will not have to deal with loud, obnoxious neighbors or their kids. I need to have some peace and quiet soon or I will go wacko!

Well, here we go! Mom nearly fell going back into the house today after her appointment, and she said that's the last time she's leaving the house - (hallelujah!!!). My brother and I were just talking about that before I left (after they were gone). I've got to now see what we need to do - but I know that dad is going to have to call her dr and tell him that she can't come back any more - it's just physically too hard on her - and he'll have to "prescribe" help. Don't think she qualifies for hospice, but, we should be able to open some resources......
I want to be sick....I knew this day was coming - it's just hard now that it's here.
I need widsom in how to begin to take over the family.

Lisa, I'm praying for you and for your family... this sounds like a difficult time. This seems like a good decision on your mom's part to not want to leave the house, maybe now she can get the in-home services she needs. There's going to be a lot on you, so I pray for your strength and endurance, as well as wisdom, as you care for your family.

Lisa I will be praying for you.........I realize our situations are/were different but the best advice I can give you is to not look at it as taking over the family but instead approach it as Jesus did......by serving them.........see it as washing the feet of your parents........I can't explain it......but somehow when I stopped thinking about how it affected my life and what I was giving up I began to receive so much more then I could have imagined.
You have been giving a very special gift few receive........you have been giving the gift of the opportunity to lay down your life for another..........I so wish I could express in words how precious the gift is once you receive it............it will transform you in ways you can't imagine..........
I will be praying for you Lisa.......I will be praying as you put your family's needs before your own you will begin to see how your needs are being met through them.

I appreciate the prayers - here's a bit more......I will not be directly changing my life - other than getting help into the house. I have not been the physical caretaker, and will not be the physical caretaker. They both qualify for help, as well as my brother. But, my father has been too proud to ask. Now, he has no choice (but it's going to be a HUGE battle to get him to agree to have people come into our house). It's more of the fact that I need wisdom in utilizing available services through both my church and the community - AND through Hospice.
Dealing with my proud father is where I need wisdom. He's used to being in charge - and does NOT want to give it up.
I had to deal with him yesterday - taking time off from work to run him around (as my brother was sick) - and he was more worried about me missing work than anything else. I am exhausted today from having to reason with him on that level. He doesn't understand any longer, and mom hasn't for a long time.
My father is killing himself with worry about my brother, yet refuses to ask for help.
These are my issues - I'm bearing the emotional burdens of the family. It's not me giving up my life for them - that happened 3 years ago when I moved home. Nothing in that respect is changing, except that I must now begin to make decisions - without having the authority to do so. We have NO paperwork in place. We have NO directive for anyone.
We're a mess - and I have to handle this part of it......the physical is miniscule. I only wish it were the physical - that'd be easy. All of our "issues" are now coming to a head, and 47+ years of them are going to be hard to manage without things exploding.
Again, that's where I need wisdom.

Follow-up to previous posts: I went to Admissions at work, and a PA for Hospice will be coming to my house tomorrow night to assess both my brother (who should qualify for end-of-life care now) and my mother.
This event is opening up a door for me to do a bit of witnessing to someone very special to me - so please pray that I am able to follow God's leading and speak what needs to be said, when it needs to be said. He is from Iran.

Thanks to everyone for the prayers. I found out last night that the doctors have recommended no further chemo treatments. His family is around and is spending a lot of time reading the Bible with him and making the most of the moments.
I'm so terribly saddened at knowing what is ahead, and ask that you'll pray his transition to the arms of Jesus would be as painless as possible...

dear friends...
have only a few minutes to check in here at CW and I just want you to know that my heart goes out to each and everyone one of you this evening. So many of you are going thru such trials, but please take heart that prayers are being lifted up for you.
Dear Lord,
I do pray for these peeps here at CW... they have become so dear to me, in ways that I can't even explain, only that I know we hold a special bond in You. I lift up their concerns and their needs. I thank you for their joys. Thank you Lord, that you give us such encourangement in one another...

Having an offer after one week is amazing!! They keep sayting the real estate marlket is slow but our God sure can speed things up. Continuing to pray that the sale will be a blessing both to you and to the buyer.

Just got word that my best friend's daughter is in labor right now - with twins. They are a month early. They cannot get labor to stop (she's been in labor since 1am). Please pray for her and the babies - that they are all healthy.
Our hospice appt is moved to Tuesday night (unless Ike is heading our way). Continued prayers are appreciated.

I am continuing to keep you all in prayer.
I would like to add an updated request for my Aunt Joy who just found out she has cancer. Today she got the results and found she has stage 2A loubular cancer. They figure she's had it about 2 years and the reason why she just now discovered the masses was because she had recently lost a lot of weight and so now the masses are more noticeable. She will be getting 4 weeks of radiation and then about 4-6 months of chemo. Thanks so much for your prayers.

Don't know anything more than what I've told you - one was 5lbs 8ozs, and the other was 6lbs something, but don't know which was is which, or which was was born first. Grandma called to say they were all okay and gave the basic details. Laura's kids (grandma) are as close to my own as I'll ever have, so I've been enjoying all this too. Brittani (mom) is supposed to go home tomorrow, if she's doing okay.
