If you have a Star Trek show you need a fan club. Here's a thread for everyone to post
their comments and compliments. Ability to speak Klingon not required.

U-Dawg scratches his head...

Did I miss the auditions? Or, is my part not coming up yet? Just wondering...

Hmmmm... Tempting... Tempting.. Tempting...

How about those kewl stalves that those droids used in Revenge of the Sith? I think they are fair game....

BTW, Caspian, remember, there are different types of Jedis who specialize in different areas of abilities. Taking into consideration my personality, I would not make a great negeotator. I'm too blunt. However, tactics, analysis or tracking, I would do a good to excellent job. What would be your "speciality?"

Fellow fans the story is well underway. I hope all of you are waiting anxiously as I am to find out the source of the smoke. Please be sure to put all comments in this thread or the casting call thread. That way the story will not be disrupted.
Live long and prosper!

Hold on a second -- this is a STAR TREK thread; what's up with all the talk of Jedi Knights, droids, and lightsaber's? (As a note, anybody else read the X-Wing series by Stackpole? Can't put them down for the fifth time, at least...)

I'm just bummed I didn't make it onto the Star Trek ship we've got going on here... I'm an excellent engineer, you know!

rcudawg, if I didn't cast you it was probably because I wasn't sure who you would be. Anyone can jump in to play their character. You cam go to the "Casting Call for Singles" Thread to describe your character. As for the show thread itself. Just be creative, jump in, and go for it! You can create dialogs and thoughts/narratives too. The fun part is that it is completely Improv style.

No, no you can if you want. We have an engineer but you can be the co-engineer. You can jump on anytime. Again just describe your character on the casting call thread.

rcudawg,

You'd have me in tactics and tracking. But I'd be a master duelest. I've always been in great shape and could do a deadly dance w/ a lightsaber. Jedi Guardian would be my expertise, for sure.

Great duelist, huh? I did fencing in college (and I don't mean the wooden or chain link, either). I've also taken some stick and knife fighting while at the 82nd.

Okay... Here's the "official" bio of my character

Name: Markav Greyfoot
Race: Mixed -- Father was human and mother is Felonian (both are currently deceased)
Children: None, but sometimes takes care of his nieces and/or nephews (father's side) -- in the process of trying to adopted his niece Rabecca (age 7)
Hair: Medium brown with tan highlights on his head. Back of his arms, legs, etc., sparse coat of tan fur with light brown highlights. Tail is almost totally tan with a few small rings of brown fur.
Eyes: Green with brown speckles (feline shaped)
Unique features: Has three retractable claws on each hand (about 1 inch long) and four non-retractable claws on each foot (about 2.5 inches long). Both sets of claws are razor sharp, continue to grow, and are made of very dense bone. His tail is almost three feet long and highly flexible. His ears are pointed with tuffs of fur (drk brown) and he can move them independantly of each other. He has very keen sense of smell, hearing and sight, though not quite as good as a full-blooded felonian. He has a lot of strength and can run fast, but not good at distance running. Purebreed felonians have arms and legs that are almost even in lenght which enable them to run/walk on all fours. However, Markav's legs are more human and longer. His tail helps him have extremely good balance and agility.

Bio: Because many felonians do not believe in breeding with other races, his mother had little contact with her family after choosing to marry his father. Growing up, he learned how to hunt and fight as a human and as a felonian. His father was a career soldier (enlisted) with the Federation, as are/were other members of his father's family. Growing up in such a background helped Markav learn military discipline and tactics at a young age (military specialities ranged from infantry to intelligence) Because he had few friends growing up, he is very used to operating by himself.

He followed in his father's footsteps at a young age and entered the Federation enlisted service at age 16. Being very smart and having a family history in the military helped this to happen. He worked as an office assistant until age 19, then switched over to military intelligence. For reasons unknown to him, he ascended the ranks very slowly, making sergeant at age 26 and being eligable for staff sergeant at age 31. He was stationed at various outposts over the years, monitoring communications or interviewing people, including Vulcan space, Klingon border, etc.

When he was 29, he was assigned to listening post 163 on the Romulan boarder. Although he was very good at his job, he was passed up for promotion several times. Finally, just after turning 31 and being eligable for promtion, the station became the target of a sneak attack. Orignally, over 200 people lived and worked at the small outpost. Less than 30 survived. Because of broad background and "unique ablities," Markav was able to free several prisoners and create a gurrelia force (originally 75 members) to harass the Romulans until they were freed over a month later. At this time, he was given a field promotion to Leutenient and given charge of a group of soldiers. He was the sole surviver of that group.

Upon being freed, he spent several months on earth recovering from a variety of inuries. Upon returning home, he found out that his parents had been killed in a "freak accident." His uncle helped take care of him at this time. When he returned to duty, he was trained as a communications officer, which was far from his first choice. His first assignement, at age 33, is the USS Debit Card.

I don't know about any of you guys, but I sure am having fun with this Star Trek forum! To be honest, I've had to change ideas and plot directions for my character at least three, if not four times! But, that's not a problem for me. In fact, I'm glad. This "series" is really keeping me on my toes, forcing me to be creative and flexible.

All in all, definitely a ton of fun!

Here's what I wrote in the other thread:

No. 1...

Her name is Lelandra Shell. She is a Trill like Dax from DS9 (but there is a secret about her Trill'ism that won't come out for quite awhile...)

She is pretty young (about 24) for someone of her rank. But she is smart as a whip and extremely ambitious, which is why she ascended rank so quickly. She is breathtakingly gorgeous of course, but she won't date anyone cuz she is a top-ranking official and her job is of utmost importance to her. Because of her ambition, she sometimes gets out of line or may even try to usurp the captain (!!!), so he has to keep a pretty tight leash on her. (oh, and for her appearance, think of something like Dr. Shepherd's wife from Grey's Anatomy... A redhead, tall, beautiful, but also imposing...)

In addition to being a wiz at battle formations, she is a genius in astrophysics (hee hee - I get to make up technobabble) and could have been an engineer if she chose. So sometimes she might be called in to help the engineering folks, or she might just step on their toes from time to time. She likes to use really big words when she talks to make people feel not so smart cuz she is a bit arrogant. OK, she is more than a "bit" arrogant (part of it is from her being a Trill). Think "Dr. House from House MD," for example or the doctor from Scrubs (Cox I think is his name). The thing is, she can get away with her sarcasm and put-downs "to an extent" because she is so valuable... But there ARE limits.

Oh, and sometimes she is not completely in control of her Trill-side, and the "other personalities" may come out at unexpected times... Just warning you guys...

Ok here we go.

Name: Kanani Choi
Rank: Ten Forward Hostess
Species: Human
Birthplace: Island of Maui, Hawaii
Age: 32
Physical description: Kanani is 5'7" and has medium brown hair and light brown eyes. She is fit and has a curvy body. She always wears a flower in her hair.
Skills and Abilities: 1st hand combat, acrobatics, communications specialist.
BIO: Kanani Choi is the daughter of Makua and Melanie Choi. Her father was a Commander on the USS Victoria when he was in his 30's. He was forced to retire after a Borg attack which left him paralyzed from the waist down. Her mother, Melanie was also a Commander. 5 years ago, Melanie was promoted to Captain. At that time, Kanani was on her way to become a Commander herself and she was elated to find that she was going to be her mother's first officer! She was close to her mother. Just one month into the mission aboard the new USS Victoria, Melanie had a massive heart attack and dies instantly. Kanani was devastated and requested to return home to earth. Since that time, Kanani refused to continue on in her Commander role. In fact, she didn't want anything to do with being a high ranking officer. She spend the next 4 1/2 years working a civilian job. Then, 6 months before the USS Debit Card was christened as a new ship, she was asked to serve on board as the ship's hostess. The federation thought it would good for her to come back. After much consoling from her father, she agreed, although hesitant. As long as she didn't have any role in being even a low-ranking officer, she was ok with it. Being an officer reminded her too much about her mother.

Over the past 2 years, strange things have been happening to her. She would have occurances of knowing what people were thinking and feeling (although inconsistantly). She ignores these occurances but at times, wonders why it happens. These abilities have grown stronger and stronger over time.

She grew up with counselor Troi and both of them have many things in common. Kanani's mother has taught Troi many skills and they both often had friendly competitions with each other. They are like sisters.
