Roberta, how did the interviews go?

How are you doing Limulus?

DeAnn, that must be scary! {{{{{{{{{DeAnn}}}}}}}}}

Hey, haven't drank since the 27th. Poured the rest down the sink.

I finally made contact with my Ex after about 10 years, in an attempt to see my daughter. We are currently exchanging emails for a meeting. It's progress, but I am so nervous, my emotions are a bit numb and I am not sure what to think. I think my mind is trying to understand that this is reality and not a dream anymore. Need prayer about this too.

The singleness thing is really getting to me. My quiet house is like a prison sometimes. I have been getting out of the house a lot more and I really enjoy my new church home. I am 32 years old and starting to think that I am going to be single the rest of my life :(. discouraging

I sure hope you get to see her. That would be awesome. I'm sure she's missed you.

32 is young. You've got a lot of time to find a wife. Perhaps you'll meet her at your new church you enjoy so much.

The interviews went OK. Actually I didn't get to meet with the manager at Dollar Tree. He called me before I got on the bus and headed over there and we are meeting Tuesday. I really appreciate that he called me to let me know. There are many potential employers who do not extend that courtesy. I have an interview tomorrow with Sally's and Monday I have an interview at a different Dollar Tree and Home Depot.

I met with my therapist today. She said that our next meeting would be our last unless she could get the state to see that I still needed more meetings. She said that she doesn't think that will be a problem.
My pdoc met with us. She said that she is ruling out bipolar as my illness. She said there is a definite panic disorder that seems to be PTSD related. She is also attempting to get the state to see that I need more time.
They were neutral on the idea of me getting a job. However, they both stressed that it should not be a job that is heavy customer service. However, there are no other places hiring and the state is dragging it's heals with disability.

I was very bummed earlier today to find out that the pdoc ruled out bipolar. I feel like I've wasted the last four years trying to treat the wrong disease. Now, I think I'm OK with it.

On the bright side of things, you won't have as many issues getting life insurance and other things like that now that the bp dx is off the table. (BTDT -- still facing the repercussions of what appears to have been a wrongful dx)

Thanks Kara.

I've cried about the wasted time and the anger at myself, my doctors and therapists who've treated me in the last four years. I feel like it's time lost. Between the job interviewing, the appointment and crying, I've worn myself out completely. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to pop in a movie or listen to a CD as I fall asleep. I was thinking about reading, but I don't know if I can concentrate that well right now.

If you've been having psycho-therapy, wouldn't that have helped you regardless of your diagnosis?

Yes it did maggie. Right now I'm just having a hard time being optimistic. I feel much better today than I did yesterday though.

Roberta, I can understand how you feel, given that I've been misdiagnosed a few times before they all agreed that I have schizoaffective disorder. Before that, I was diagnosed with major depression, then bipolar disorder. I used to be diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, but my pdoc deleted that one since I've not had the symptons of that one for a long time now. I also have rapid cycling and SAD, although I've not been officially diagnosed with the latter one, at least not to my knowledge. I do have SAD in the fall and winter and cold, rainy days year-round.

With that said, I still get mood swings with my current diagnosis, but they're not as bad. Yesterday, though, I was having some depression, but I went outside and did some yardwork, then helped pass out candy to the kids and posted here, so I felt better. I've been eating lots of sugared food and I know that affects my moods, so starting today, I'm going to stop eating sugared food, except for a few Christimas cookies and maybe a piece of pecan pie at Thanksgiving.

Thanks Dee & Maggie. My mood has actually been pretty good today, all things considered. I got my sister's birthday present today. Her birthday isn't until Wednesday and she doesn't want to open it until then. I want her to open it now! LOL! She guessed what it is, but she doesn't know that she guessed correctly.

The Good:

I woke up yesterday morning and my power was off. Turns out the electric company is replacing poles in my area. So power was to be off for about 8 hours. I thought I would head up to my church to see if anything was going on. Turns out they needed volunteers for the Matthew West concert. So I met a lot of nice Christians, had some great fellowship. To top it off I was able to see the concert for FREE!!! It was awesome. Matthew West is a very humble guy and his concert was not just entertainment, it was like a worship service. Plus he also has a pretty good sense of humor.

The Bad:

My Ex emailed me and started telling me about her life and why "she" thought that things happened the way that they did. Ugh, I told her I was trying to keep this business like to only see my daughter. I don't want to hear about my Ex's life, garrrr! So I basically emailed her back and once again turned the focus to my daughter and I asked my Ex to keep her personal life to herself. This pretty much killed the rest of my evening :( .

Oh, life.

Everything was really looking up with getting disability. I'm getting the max amount, which is fantastic. Since I desperately need new clothes. All I have is one pair of slacks and two shirts. Gonna get a psych and new medication. Everything was great.

Then today happened. My brother had a baby two weeks ago. The left side of his heart was underdeveloped, so he had to have open heart surgery a week after he was born. The surgery was a complete success, and he was going to make it. Following the surgery, he was recovering greatly. Then out of nowhere today, his blood pressure dropped considerably. His breathing slowed, and they ended up doing chest compressions. The doctor said he wasn't sure if he would make it past the next few hours. Five minutes later, the doctor returned to say that the baby had died. They're in Charleston, which is three hours away from us...so we weren't there. They were alone. I've never seen my mom in this much pain...she was screaming in agony. If only you guys could have seen how excited she was to be a grandmother. And suddenly, everyone's dreams were ripped apart. I don't know what's going to happen over the next few days, but I do know that we have not seen the worst of it yet. His wife made him promise that if it came down between her and the baby, that he would choose the baby. But the decision was made for them. I don't know what to think about any of this.

((((everythingat)))) I am so sorry to hear about your nephew.

Today I filed online with a law office to get disability going. I hate having to do it that way. However, the end of this month makes a year ago that I first filed. I really don't want to pay the lawyer's fees. However, it is better in the long run to pay their fees than to have to keep fighting on my own. I just really don't do well with the stress.

Heading to apply for a job today. I want something that would be in ministry and maybe 20 hours a week. I can't handle full time right now, taking small steps. Could use some prayer. Thank you

I think this is the song we were singing last night at Celebrate Recovery. This song about Jesus brought me to my knees this morning.

Good for you! Keep at it! Keep turning to God when the temptations come. One thing I do when I have overpowering or persistent temptation (though alcohol has never been a problem for me, I have my own issues), one thing that has helped is to sing songs to or about Jesus and/or put Christian/praise/worship music on. It puts the truth in my ears and mind when I'm being barraged by lies. The song you linked to is an awesome one! I do pray that you'll get just the right job for you.

My son decided to forfeit the job he had landed a week and a half ago. He was to start last Tuesday but he went with the Mobile Crisis Unit to a safe house the night before, so it was all put on hold. He thought he had lost the job but they called this morning, asking him to come in this afternoon. He set out on his bike but got caught by a huge panic attack not long after he set out. He's decided that maybe he isn't ready for a full-time job, which I agree with, so he went home, called his boss and said he's not ready to work and they'd need to find someone else. I know it must be disappointing for him at some level, but I'm glad because if he was working, he wouldn't be available for the psych day program his doctor wants him to attend. And truly, he's not ready to work yet.

On a positive note, he's been trying to get employment insurance for the past nine months. Yesterday he got a call from the employment office to say that they were giving him far more than he had expected--7 1/2 months worth. Woo hoo!

Everything, I'm so sorry about the loss of your nephew. {{{{{{Everything}}}}}}

It sounds like your son made a good decision. From what I know about those day programs, they might be able to help him develop job skills that can help him find a job that he can handle. Maybe applying for social security and/or SSI benefits might help if he's still unable to work.

Lord, lift Limulus up and comfort him today. Be with him and give him that very special grace that only You can give. Give him strength and courage to fight the many things that beset him. Let him turn to You and ask specifically for what he needs to get him through this time. Help us as Christians to lift him and others up before You when they are not able to lift themselves up.
We ask this in Jesus name. Amen

{{{{{{{{{Limulus}}}}}}}} I'm praying. You can do this, Limulus. God will hep you as you lean on him.

Roberta, you can go to a bar and order a coke or 7-up or something. Even coffee and tea. I hope you have a good time with your sister.
