Cookie monster!!!!!

Oooooof course! lol!

I also like Ernie. He's cute. And you gotta love Elmo!

I saw it coming duuuuude.

Happy Thursday island peeps! I'm meeting a friend for breakfast this morning. I'm also thinking of doing some shopping. There's a list of things we want to get but we are going to spread it out a bit and not get everything on the list at one time. Tonight I am grilling up some ahi tuna with furikake on it (a Japanese condiment). I may also drizzle some of this garlic balsamic vinegar I got from the food show last week. Yum!

Here's what I have on the list...Question of the day, what would you buy first and then second? Jokingly and then seriously?

- First tea set for future business
- A hand mixer
- Pancake ball pan (I may decide to make these for the business!) Filled Pancake Pan
- peeler
- Ice cream scoop
- Vacuum
- Monopoly

I ended up buying the monopoly and another "board game" and the mixer. I may go with John on Saturday to buy the peeler and ice cream scooper.

I will wait for the vacuum for the next pay check and the rest another time.

How's everyone doing?

I mean for a peeler you can use a knife and a spoon as an ice cream scoop for now. Do you have lots of carpet?

I'm doing good, looking forward to tomorrow.

Yeah vacuuming can wait.

Get a decent hand mixer. The cheap ones will burn out on you quicker.

The only two things on this list that I own are a vacuum and a peeler, so I would say go with those.

Hi!

Terri, the problem with a spoon is that it can bend easily...not unless you wait for the ice cream to soften a little. And usually I want my ice cream now! LOL The ice cream scooper I want is the one with the special metal that will melt it a little to make it easier to scoop. As for the peeler, I can't peel with a knife. I'm not good at that. That plus it's hard to use a knife when you are peeling a carrot. I had to make my lamb stew with the skin on.

I also want to get one of theose graters that have 6 different functions. lol

I don't have too much carpet but ahem...Mr. Johnny Boy is umm.. Well let's just say that if he was a super hero he would be called The Spiller. We DO have such thing as a plate you know.

I have a day off with John on Saturday! Woo Hoo!

I had a dole whip at the state fair last weekend and they made it with milk or something.

I was so disappointed.

It's a pineapple soft serve. John loves it. lol

Yes, John made me a milkshake. He put a little coffee in it.

So Tina, has your cabana boy been on active duty or has he been taking over excess amounts of breaks?

I asked this to a couple of friends in instant messenger, but here goes.

If you could "wave a magic wand" and have whatever job you wanted, what job would you want to have?

Working in broadcasting, perhaps either working on the air and/or controlling what music gets played.

So, who is your favorite Sesame Street character???

When growing up it was Bert, but these days it is Kermit instead.

Oh, I do not really know, I guess that the Vacuum would be first then the pancake pan.

Pineapple soft serve is amazing. I still need to order that so I can make proper dole whips in Texas.

As for Cabana Boy, well I'm doing my best to keep him out of trouble but it seems that he is always looking for an excuse to take a break to hang out with a cute girl. I only do what I can.

So as long as he punches out for these breaks.

Hey everyone! John and I had our first Sabbath in awhile so we were away from the puter. It was a great Sabbath day.

Ah yes Mike, I know your broadcasting dreams. Have you ever thought about making a music blog for fun? You could have songs on your page and then "talk" about the music scene. I think that would be cool!

How is everyone else doing?

Question of the day...Have you heard about the McDonald's campaign and what do you think about it?

Article

In another article, the American Family Association recently lifted their boycott on McDonalds after McD's disengaged their membership to the organization.

Oh, so they aren't paid breaks?? Hmm...I wonder what he thinks of that.

I haven't heard of a McDonald's new campaign. Then again I don't watch much tv either.

I posted a new poll/thread in relationships on surprises, Trishy....it's dead so far. Wanna check it out?

Hmmm, honestly I have mixed emotions about it. It reminds me a lot of the Southern Baptist Boycott of Disney in the last decade, and there are numerous other businesses and chains that have become "gay-friendly".

I've probably talked about this elsewhere on the forums, but I was never a proponent of the Disney Boycott (even though I was not a member of a Southern Baptist church at the time) for many reasons. These businesses, while some may promote "family values", do not take claims on being Christian owned and run. The sad fact of the matter is that homosexuality is becoming more accepted in today's society and culture. So is premarital sex and living together without marriage. It is part of the fallen world we live in. We have to learn to live in it, while being salt and light (and not just cayenne pepper - hooo! too much of that can burn anybody!).

I'm anti-boycotting unless I know that there is not only purpose, but the potential to actually make a difference.

*shrugs* my 2 cents

ETA: Looks like I did post on the subject back in April, here in this thread! lol... Here's the link:
