That is how I am trying to think of it Popsi- If nothing else I know he will pull out his bible and read a while. Something about him + a bible folks seem to ask him what he is reading. I can sit and read my bible and no one will ask what I am reading. he always has a bible nearby. He keeps one on his desk at the office too. he is not a chaplain but is affectionately called Chaplain Roper by some of the folks he has worked with.

He is looking at this as a mission trip... I know God is gonna send folks that are looking, seeking needing him across my Honey's path. If honey is sitting in a holding area waiting on a flight then he needs to be right there waiting with whoever happens to be right there with him. Show him where to be- Give him the words to say- Help his actions and speech glorify you Lord.

Ezri,

I haven't said anything to you yet but I've been reading your posts and have been blessed by them. So sorry your husband was delayed. So thankful to him (and all who are serving us in Iraq)! Hope he made it back all right eventually. God bless you and your family!

Popsi,

Same to you. I've not said anything yet, but been reading. Did you get that job in the nursery? Did I miss somewhere where you said?

2Preacher,

People ignore my posts a lot, too. But then I a lot of times don't reply either even when I really like what I'm reading (see above), simply because I can't think of anything to say.

Annie,

I don't know yet. You see the lady was going to have her decision yesterday, but a relative in her family passed and so she said she is going to make her decision on Monday.

I pray I do. They were looking for someone with experience, but we'll see if this is God. I know that I am able to learn what they need to me to learn.

:)

Thanks Annie- I appreciate all the prayers for him as well as me and the kids. I don't expect him home til monday sometime. Then i get him for about 2 weeks before he is "locked in" with the troops.

Monday's going to be a big day for both of you, Popsi and Ezri. I am awaiting the news from both of you.

Popsi, I have a suggestion, in case she hires someone with experience. I hope you don't mind. I hope you get the job, so I have been hesitating about saying anything.

There is a way you can get experience, if she chooses someone else. While you don't have work, offer her a specific amount of time that you will help her free of charge. That may be an amount of time daily or an amount of time weekly. Be meticulously on time. Treat it like a paying job and throw yourself into it. Let her know that your help is temporary, because you are looking for a paying job. That way, you will get experience, she will get to know you, and when she needs a new employee, you will be first in her mind. However, if you find a job somewhere else, you can put her down as a reference and as volunteer work.

Popsi, although I had plenty of experience and didn't need that, this is how i got my present job. I have been there for over four years now as a paid employee. I heard that they MAY hire a secretary, so I volunteered to give them a month's part-time work. When the month was up, and I said I needed to move on to a paying job, they hired me on the spot.

Many others have done this, too. It works wonderfully while one is not employed.

Abiyah,

Admittedly that does sounds like an excellent idea, but I do not own my own vehicle. My friend agreed to give me rides to work because than it would be benefiting them financially too. I am sure that it wouldn't be something agreed on because of the gas prices and there sudden raise right now. You know?

Walker I completely agree that Christians can hurt others more so than
non-Christians because we EXPECT so much more from those who SAY
they love and follow Christ.
I am experiencing this right now as a matter of fact, and in my own family as well!
As I have seen, some people just say they are one to "appear nice."
Not only are they not one, but through their words and actions are not
walking with the Lord and are hurting others and playing head games.
I game on a website called Pogo and have made some friends there but let me tell you there are a LOT of people there much more willing to use /abuse you then be the true chrisitian friend they say they are, even after two years they play childish games and refuse to forgive others and keep a record of "wrong doings." See also the Love Chapt in the Bible....I think a lot of so-called christans have NOT read this / don't practice any of it in their daily lives. But I am not here to judge that.
I am new here but I am getting a lot of healthy help here and I am
wanting to make new friends---CHRISTIAN ones that are walking daily with the Lord and don't treat you like dirt.
1 Thess 1:2 "You have strenthened me with your prayers, blessed me with your love, and encouraged me with your hope. I give thanks to
God always for you."

Hi Cynthia,

Welcome to our little corner of the web. I think you will find we use this thread as a safe place to whine or not whine about "church" things. Sometimes we get WAY off topic and just goof off or... LOL! anyway, We hang out in this thread and support & love one another for the most part- Every once in a while (not often enough in my estimation) our patriarch Mr. Walker311 pops in to impart words of wisdom. Glad to of met ya.

Rats, Popsi! Somehow, I got the idea that this nursery was basically just around the corner from you. I am sorry, Popsi. But I have been praying that you get the job and all this is of no use anyway.

Cynthia, I am glad you are here. I am not on CW very long, and there are many threads I have never seen, but I haven't seen anyone use anybody here yet. Maybe I'm ignorant of such things, but I sure haven't seen it. I hope you stay here a long, long time and that you love it as many of us do.

So here is a good excuse to whine about girls who you don't know who get drunk and go to your daughters wedding uninvited and throw up all over your other daughters brand new venetian bathroom!

(I'll get over it... I just need to keep whining a little longer!)

Ewwwww

I was coming in here to whine about *those people* who can't stand seeing others happy and come and rain on your parade whenever they sense you are in a good mood ... but that ^^^, oh man, that's so much worse.

People who are not invited should not just invite themselves. Especially when they plan to misbehave.

... oh wait, that was a bit redundant.

I'm feeling just slightly snarky at the moment. It'll go away. Really. It will. Let me get some coffee, then the world will be a better place!

A great reply to a "tree hugger" who was concerned over a pair of Lizard skin boots. "Lady, a Greyhound bus ran over this lizard and then I got him and made me a pair of boots."

whine: what hospital isn't a mess. If you're not sick when you go in, you will be when you come out.

whineeeeeee

every part of me aches from sitting on an uncomfortable hospital cheer for 7 hours straight, minus the 15 minutes on the floor, and 30 minute trip to the car( was distracted by a man who wanted to indoctrinate me).

POPSI:

Sounds like you had a rough time. I would whine too if it were me. I've been there and done that. Why were you at (in) the hospital anyway? Nothing serious I hope.

Hey, Preach! I'm a tree-hugger! My son told me so, and my son does not lie. Lemme at those boots!

Whine: It is interesting to me, as a tree-hugger-animal-lover, that there are other supposed tree-hugger-animal-lovers who don't give a hoot about an unborn HUMAN fetus, but they will chain themselves to trees for a spotted owl and drag themselves to the bottom of the sea for a whale fetus.

Me too, but only in the sense that I am a "nature lover". When it comes to a choice between "trees and animals" or "people" I choose people. I am all for saving and conserving the environment because it is Biblical to do so. Why was Adam put into the garden of Eden? "To keep it and to dress it" another words as a "care taker". Man has CERTAINLY shirked his responsibility in this area. I just think that some people take "environmentalism" a bit too far. So far, in fact, that it becomes stupidity.

Again I agree with you. Abortion is a GREAT EVIL and should be outlawed. You statement is an example of just how MIXED UP some peoples Priorities are and the absolute stupidity of some. As Jerry Clower says, they are "educated beyond their intelligence". God will judge.

Hi Abiyah...

as you know, I live in Oregon... and there are MANY out here who are just like that! Sad, sad, sad!
