It should be noted here that the Christian cannot be possessed by a demon, in the same way people in the Bible are described as being possessed.

That fine, I don't mind going back to the other thread about demon possession.

But, you made a statement on this thread that I feel you should explain in more detail what you mean by it.

"same way" what did you mean by this statement.

This thread is not about demon possession, oppression, influence, etc.. it is about Cleansing Stream ministries. I would be more than happy to continue our conversation in the other thread where we discussed at length the topic you're obviously obsessed with.

Back to the subject, I went and looked at their website. Looks like a ministry founded on solid doctrine.

Geez, I go away for a couple of days and it turns into a brawl. and you keep your disagreements on a separate thread and focus on CS here?

Man, no wonder the church is in a mess.

Since CS was the topic and one of their focus' is deliverance ministry: One of Earthless comments needed to be explained in greater detail.

New to message boards?

It's not a brawl, but a discussion. Something that is done in healthy well-balanced churches all over the world. Usually with some good coffee and rolls.

It should be noted here that the Christian cannot be possessed by a demon, in the same way people in the Bible are described as being possessed.

I'm just wondering what other think that this statement means?

It means that the way that people where possessed by a demon in the Bible cannot happen to born-again believers. Pretty straightforward.

Cautious Skeptic,

First of all let me give you a little background so you know where I'm coming from...

I am a Foursquare Pastor of a small church in Canada... I have been a part of this denomination for about 8 or 9 of the 18 years that I have been a believer, and our church family is a Bible-believing, Jesus-preaching group of believers. Our church has held Cleansing Stream seminars, and we have seen dozens if not hundreds of believers find freedom in Christ through the teaching and ministry that took place. For the sake of clarification in this discussion:

Neither the Cleansing Stream Ministries, nor the Foursquare Gospel Church, teach or believe that a Christian can be demon possessed. However, we do believe that believers can be oppressed, tempted, tormented, deceived, etc. by demons, and that Christians can find freedom in Christ through the Word of God. Jesus said, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." That's the basis of the Cleansing Stream Ministries.

Also, if you do a study of Jack Hayford, you will find that he is perhaps one of the most respected 'charismatic' ministers in the Body of Christ, that he is very balanced in both practiced and theology, and that he avoids the extremes and false doctrines and errors that you will find in the Word Faith camps (Copeland, Hagin, Hinn, etc).

Looking forward to dialoguing about this more with you all...

Blessings!

Not going to argue with him about their correct belief that Christians cannot be possessed by demons?
