I still say that each Christian denomination thought some part of another denomination's doctrine was false otherwise they wouldn't have split from the original congregation. So why start throwing stones unless they are telling us that Jesus is not God, there is no God or that we should not care about our fellow man and just grab all the stuff in this world for ourselves. If I knew about all of Barlow Girl's beliefs I probably won't agree 100% with them but they preach chastity and making Jesus the center of your life so why am I going to drag them down for that? Christians are supposed to be building each other up and not trying to drag each other down!

amen to that. seriously, if we as Christians spent as much time building each other up as we do looking for disagreements, the church would be probly look completely different right now. not that it's a bad thing to keep each other accountable. but I think, in a case like this, since we don't personally know the Barlow girls or what they specifically believe with the Todd Bentley and Joyce Meyer teachings.. I don't think we can even hint that they could be trying to promote evil teachings.

You guys, it's kind of like the "success" issue...I don't agree with the Girls forsaking commercial and award success, but that's not gonna make me abandon them. And as for the Bentley thing, I always like to give folks benefit of the doubt. Innocent (Stellar Kart, where are ya?) until proven guilty!! I still love following the teachings of Joel Osteen even though others say he's full of it. However, the other day I went for the first time to Flamingo Road Church, a popular semi-mega-church in Cooper City, FL, in Broward County, as a guest of my brother (actor Eddie Matos, of the brief-lived CBS TV drama "Cane") and his longtime girlfriend. The pastor is Troy Gramling, whose broadcasts are beamed on the local Fox affiliate (WSVN-TV 7) and on TBN. He's similar to Ed Young; I almost called him "Ed" when I met him Sunday! Somehow this experience didn't feel as great afterwards as my usual Sunday Catholic Masses. oh well.. But to each his/her own. Ray

Ray Funny you brought up Joel. I'm not sure who said he was "full of it", but my problem with him is largely that his messages are always the lightweight stuff even when there probably should be some sort of sound doctrine being preached.

The guy who said Osteen was full of it was some collegiate theologian on "60 Minutes". Then, the folks on BarlowGirl.com's SoundPost echoed his sentiments, saying that what J.O. said was mularkey because, you just couldn't "expect great things" to happen and then they would. That's why I'm so often at odds with the people at BGSP...they seem to be very conservative (the Doves stuff, the concerns about the girls never coming here to play concerts, they are kind of "touchy" there!). Boy, how times have changed...I remember how Oral Roberts once said "Expect a Miracle!!" It's even emblazoned on the endzone of the Mabee Center arena in Tulsa, OK's Oral Roberts U. campus...hey, the Winter Jam played there! Blessings! Wait...so now it matters what pop music artists say or believe? It's not just about the music? What a concept!
