You know, those in the military learn to de-humanize the enemy. My husband has told me that. Along with fear and panic are not your friends. I am a Christian and pray for the ememy. Does this make me want to embrace them on US Soil? No, I want to ask those that want to free them. Where do you want them? do you really trust them here upclose and personal? Maybe a different alternitive could, or should be worked out. I do not know, but neither do any of you. Do any of you know what has happened to those rleased, or been given a trial? I do not think it it is very pretty. One suicide bombing the day or so after, one not wanting the trial. These are crazy folk mixed with evil, mixed with false fanatical religon. So maybe they will look for host families if they are brought over are you willing? If not then I say quit complaing about Gitmo. Who says an enemy combatant deserves a trail anyway? They stay captive as long as we as long are in war. I do not remember trials in past wars. The combatants are held until the war is over. There maybe a solution we could exchange prisoners for Osama Bin Laden. quote:

Bush appointed judge rules to free five GITMO detainees. Liberal Islamo-Fascist judges. I wonder what Politburo Punk made him a judge?

ORIGINAL: phreddy Eric Holder's (Obama's choice for Attorney General) opinion of the detainees in Gitmo http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122731301791449521.html?mod=djemEditorialPage The quote was in 2002. I'd be more interested in what he thinks today. I'd like to know what they (detainees) are rather than what they are not.

Not directly about Gitmo, but this Washington Post story was written by an Air Force interrogator in Iraq, discussing the reasons he does not support the use of the tactics used at Guantanamo Bay (and also in Iraq): "Torture and abuse are against my moral fabric. The cliche still bears repeating: Such outrages are inconsistent with American principles. And then there's the pragmatic side: Torture and abuse cost American lives."

I don't think Obama will treat the situation much differently than McCain would have if he was elected. Exactly. As John McCain would say, it's a matter of restoring America's honor in the world. Who would have thought the USA would lock people up for years without formally charging them?

The Iraq War posters should check out the article.
