Status: online 		You get a whole row/pew (or two!!) to yourselves Sunday morning. That way, if you have to get up, your behind doesn't have to go in a non-related person's face.

No leftovers!

As has already been mentioned, it's cheaper to buy a membership if you plan on going somewhere more than once.

Bigger kids buckle the smaller, so you don't have to contort yourself to reach the back of the van. (Then again, in a smaller family, you probably don't have to put little kids in the back of the van...)

Passing on socks and undies happen naturally. It's not gross.

You can make a whole cake or other dessert and not have to worry about eating too much of it yourself.

Always someone to read to or to read to you, and also always someone to play with.

My first thought was, "Eww", but then I remembered my 4-year old son has flowered training pants that used to belong to his older sister .

That is definately one of the things I'm going to miss when all the kids grow up and fly the nest.

Status: offline 		My daughter and I could share them now... This creeps me out when Poppa is sorting clothes.

Re - van with 2 kids? The big one goes to the back because he smells like a boy.

The thing I've always liked/envied is the SPACE a big family or group of people can make. I tend to be a bit freaked out by being up against people. When 6 people want to get to the middle of a row, everyone moves. When there is only 3 or 4, you are supposed to slide past them. There have been more than a few times that I wished I had a group to create a buffer zone for me.

We passed socks - Me, BigBee, DeeDee. Now, it is BigBee and DeeDee's get pitched due to stains and holes and I have my own.

I always bought gender neutral colors to avoid the flower issues. Red. Blue. Green. Orange. That is all I would allow for tees, shorts, socks. DeeDee was allowed to add pink when she got new.

Status: online 		LOL, MB. That was not quite the kind of government that I was thinking of. The kids all have their own positions and responsibility within the government design. They all sit at the round table when making decisions and plans. I had thought about how it would look with three or less children, but haven't gotten to really work. I would love to see it work though, but not with a dictatorship model. LOL, That is funny.

I have said many of the things that Donna has said. I second much of that.

We have enough room in our van that it gets lent out for group trips for church stuff.

We could double our family size and still have room in our van.

We can have a family of 4 or a family of 10 kids stay at our home for a week and not really notice that much of a difference in activity level and have no problem feeding everyone. It is not a problem if people happen to show up at dinnertime usually.

If no one can show up for a party because of a storm, we still have enough people to have a great party.

People are always saying "God bless you!" when finding out how many kids we have.

We get our own row at church.

It is much easier to take advantage of sales at clothing stores as the more kids we have the more likely it is that we will have a child that can fit into one the sizes that are left on sale.

Of course that works - but only when it's the child that actually NEEDS the clothes is the one that gets them! We typically never have any problems finding clothes for our 7 yo dd and 14 yo ds, but the 9 yo ds and 10 yo dd are a different story. Sure the 14 yo can pass clothes down to his younger brother and that would be great, but eldest child wears regular sizes and youngest ds wears huskies and is shorter.

Status: online 		I usually buy ahead a bit. That way between the new clothes set aside and the hand-me-downs they usually have enough to hold them over until I can find a good price. Although, my 9 year old is currently down to one good pair of jeans (he has nice khaki cargo pants for going out). I need to buy him more jeans and soon! I also need to buy new jeans for my eldest boy and soon eldest girl too. The other two are doing fine right now. Last year I bought the boys all these shirt sets for 3 and 7 dollars a set and cargo pants for all three boys for 5 dollars a piece. I was so thrilled!

Along the same lines, it's no trouble at all to have one of the kids' best friends come over, even if we hadn't planned for guests. Just throw another bean in the pot.
