You can't carry the digital version to the bathroom.

Deal breaker.

Sure you can - if you have a laptop!!!

The only "laptop" that goes into my bathroom is my Kitty cat, Sugar! She doesn't care where the lap is..... she wants on it!!!

A laptop is not much help if you run out of TP.

Sure it is...but it is quite painful.

I now regret adding my thoughts to this thread. I seem to have diverted it down a TMI path from which it may not recover.

I don't know if I'll be able to afford the $25 but I'm sure I'd never read the digital version so I'll probably stick with print or nothing. At least with print, even if I can't read it the month it comes, I can read it eventually and I don't want to spend every waking moment at the computer. I'm already worried my eyes may be changing and I need to take care of them as best I can.

Actually, you don't have to worry about that with digital. SN just makes them available as PDFs which you can save to disk, besides which they have all the digital archives to date archived.

Just wait until you go in for an exam and the eye Doc says: "You don't need a new prescription, but at your age the eyes don't change much."

And you can print them out!!!

I think I would enjoy reading Singing News online more if it was formatted in HTML rather than PDF.

That way, it could adjust to whatever screen I happened to be using at the time. Also, I could change the font size without changing the photo size.

On my wide screen laptop, I have to keep scrolling up and down just to read from one column to the next on the same page...or I have to reduce the size of the print to the point that it's difficult to see.

The other thing is that they still format the PDF with a serif font which is more suitable for reading on a printed page. A non-serif font would be easier to read on a screen.
