The thread on getting married near a holiday inspired me to start this thread.
1. What were your wedding colors?
2.What attendants did you have(you don't have to say who, just say like # of bridesmaids..# of groomsmen, etc. and describe all the non bridesmaid people you had (like flower girl/guestbook attendant, etc.)
3.If you would like, post a picture of something about your wedding you liked (what I'm trying to say is, I understand not wanting to post faces without permission on the internet, but you could post a picture of the bridesmaids' dress with the face blurred out, or post a picture of the centerpiece or something)..or if your friends don't care if you post their picture, hey post a picture of the whole wedding party.
4. Tell about one thing you did that you felt was unique to just your wedding.
5. Tell about your music
6. Tell about any special memories you have of that day, both sentimental and humorous.

On my wedding day I also gave a ring to my wife's daughter as a promise to her that I would be her father in all things. Shortly after the wedding we were able to have a legal adoption performed and my daughter has been a shining light in my life from that day forward.

My sister was maid of honor, his brother was best man. My best friend attended the guest took and lit candles, his best friend ushered people in.

I have no problem posting a picture, I am just not sure how to.

The pastor gave an invitation and people accepted the Lord.
5. Tell about your music
"The Two of Us" was sung while we prayed with the pastor and worship music with no lyrics during other times.
6. Tell about any special memories you have of that day, both sentimental and humorous.
My husband gave me a beautiful diamond necklace just before the ceremony. My BIL ran out of gas on our way to the reception. We had no single guys to catch the garter so we put in married ones just for the picture.

We didn't have any specific colors. I wore a white gown, dh wore a black tux. My sister (my only attendant) wore a cream colored dress, and the best man wore a black tux. Dh ordered the flowers, and we just had my bouquet, my sister's bouquet, and an arrangement for our table at the reception.
2. What attendants did you have(you don't have to say who, just say like # of bridesmaids..# of groomsmen, etc. and describe all the non bridesmaid people you had (like flower girl/guestbook attendant, etc.)
My sister was my matron of honor, and my husband's boss was his best man. We didn't have any other attendants. But dh's niece, who was about 5 (I think) at the time, had brought a little basket with flower petals, and she kind of became the unplanned flower girl. She didn't walk down the aisle, but she did kind of go out into the aisle before I came in, and dropped some of the petals around. My two nieces were at the guestbook, and then they also took candid photos for us during the reception.

4. Tell about one thing you did that you felt was unique to just your wedding.
It was not my first marriage (nor my husband's), I was 41 years old, and I didn't care to have my father to walk me down the aisle. So, when I entered the room from the back and started walking toward the front, dh left the front and started walking toward the back and met me half way. Then we walked the rest of the way up to the front together. Also, when the pastor asked "Who gives this woman?" I had instructed all of my family to reply "we all do".
5. Tell about your music
Hmmm...a hastily remembered instrumental CD that was in my car. The musician had the date wrong, and didn't show up. So I gave my sister my car keys, told her the name of the CD and where it was, and she got it and popped it in the CD player. We had planned to have the musician sing "Some Enchanted Evening" when I came in. Instead it was a piano version of "Sweet Hour of Prayer". We had the CD player on hand because our exit song was "Happy Trails" by Roy Rogers & Dale Evans. :-)
6. Tell about any special memories you have of that day, both sentimental and humorous.
a.) The wedding coordinator had asked us if we wanted to have communion during our ceremony and we said that would be great. What she neglected to tell us was that we would need to provide the elements. When it got to that point in the ceremony, we told the pastor what happened, and he just carried on with the rest of it. The pause is not very noticeable at all in the video.
b.) Dh was actually *physically shaking* all through the ceremony. Afterward, when I had a chance to ask him why, he said it was because he finally understood the responsibility of being the spiritual head of a home.
c.) When the pastor told dh he could kiss me, instead of folding my veil back behind my head, he just kinda tucked his head under the veil, too.
d.) At one point, when dh was supposed to be repeating vows, he didn't respond. The pastor said something along the lines of "I know you're mesmerized by staring into the eyes of your beautiful bride, but you've got to come back and repeat these vows for me."

My husband and I wanted to elope but instead had a small wedding (with only immediate family members) at my sister's house. My brother-in-law played the keyboards (Here Comes The Bride) and after the ceremony we played a CD of spongs that were special to me and my husband. The one thing that stands out was his sister and niece showing up in shorts and flop flips because according to them there is no dress code for an outdoor wedding. It was a beautiful and memorable ceremony.

When my husband and I got married it was at the justice of the peace in another state. It was a simple,sweet ceremony just the two of us. What was special not only getting married but traveling on the road and seeing the scenery and stopping to eat at two different truck stops. A year later on our first anniversary we had a renewal of vows at the church we attended.My Dad performed the ceremony and we played a cd for songs. It was a simple thing as well.We just wore our Sunday Best Clothes.

1. I wore white, Dh wore a black tux. The bridesmaids colors were ivory and raspberry fuschia and the groomsmen wore black tuxes and fuschia ties and cummerbunds. The train attendents and the flower girls wore fuschia too.
2. My best friend was the Matron of Honor and my 12 year old sister was the Maid of Honor. Dh had two closest friends as Best Men. And then we had 6 more attendants each. Two train attendants and two flower girls and one ring bearer who was about 3 weeks shy of his third birthday (and the son of the Matron of Honor)
3. I can't post a picture
4.I don't know if we did anything unique. We had communion, and some folks come and pray over us.
5.Our music was pretty much traditional in the beginning. The recessional music was the theme from "The Naked Gun" movies.
6. Well right before we were supposed to walk into the sanctuary, one of the flower girls had a fit because her mom had left to go sit down. She was finally taken out of the line up and became part of the audience. The other flower girl sort of mooned the audience during the ceremony. She was sitting on the platform and at some point laid on her back and lifted her legs up in the air.

One of my favorite subjects!
1. Victorian colours --- mauves, creams, purple/lavender
2. I had flower girl, ring bearer, maid of honor, groomsmen --- pretty much the works!
3. I don't have a way of posting a wedding photo just yet.
4. The music people forgot the wedding march!
5. My friends/family hummed the wedding march!
6. My ladyboss gave us a bottle of Kentucky Sipping Whiskey!

Ivory and plum/cabernet/redish purple, and black.

I had two bridesmaids and a maid of honor, he had two groomsmen and a best man, and we had a flower girl and ring bearer. That was it!

I'm not familiar with uploading pictures.

We used board games for centerpieces that people could play for the entertainment at the reception.
5. Tell about your music.
My talented cousin played the piano for us during the ceremony. We chose some simple classical songs - no wedding march or canon in d though, too common!
6. Tell about any special memories you have of that day, both sentimental and humorous.
It rained... no, it POURED! It partially flooded our reception hall! I said "I do" twice (I guess I was so eager to say it that I cut off the pastor before he was finished, lol). My husband cried during the ceremony. Aww! The whole day was a special memory! It was perfect.

We got married on a Saturday that happened to be the home opener for Michigan State football that year and finding parking was a problem for the attendees. (the church was 2 blocks from campus)
We had 4 each bridesmaids and groomsmen including Maid of Honor and Best Man. Bridesmaids dresses were a yellow and green floral print and the tuxes were forest green. We had a ringbearer (my cousin) and a flower girl (her niece) who were both about 4 yo.
DW designed and made her own dress, designed and made 1 or 2 of the bridesmaids dresses with her mom making the rest.
Barry Segal sang at our wedding.

Just family and friends as close as family in our backyard. The pastor's wife did the decorations (she insisted or I would have had none. In fact, she showed up with friends in the middle of the night, decorated the backyard, and then took off). Guitar music for "I can only imagine" and bbq chicken afterwards since we ended about lunch time. The toast and the cake were done in the house, which became a bit crowded.

1. Royal blue and pink.
2. We each had 4 attendants, a flower girl, her cousins were the candlelighters, her 2 brothers and my brother were the ushers
3. Pre-digital camera (by many years)
4. I sang as she walked down the aisle. Her daughter came up to us and I carried her as we walked up up the aisle in the recessional
5. We had several songs. I sang and several of my friends from college sang. Mostly contemporary stuff. We had 2nd Chapter of Acts "REJOICE" as we left the church.
6. Her dad didn't come to the wedding because he was mad at her mom because she got mad when he wouldn't help pay for the wedding so her Uncle gave her away... now 20+ years later her dad still gets all worked up and sad because he didn't come. (his wife at the time was the real problem on multiple levels)

1. What were your wedding colors? Navy blue, primarily. I had blue hydrangeas and sunflowers in my bouquet. Hubby bought a navy blue suit instead of wearing a tux.

My sister was my attendant; Kevin's brother was his. My niece handed out programs. Kevin's BIL did the photography.

4. Tell about one thing you did that you felt was unique to just your wedding. I sang to my husband. I suppose others have done it, too, but it is still pretty unique. "I Will Be Here" by Steven Curtis Chapman. We also did the sand ceremony instead of the unity candle, which I don't think the folks around here had seen before. Oh! And our centerpieces were an experiment of sorts - they were ivy plants with little fake sunflowers in them, but instead of soil, they were growing in blue plant gel. (HERE is an example, not of mine.) Of course, they didn't seem to survive very long in the stuff, but they lived long enough.
5. Tell about your music Mostly CD's - for the prelude (an instrumental praise CD) and processional (I don't even remember - two tracks off a wedding CD), my song's soundtrack, and the recessional ("The Great Adventure" by SCC). The two hymns during the ceremony were played by our pastor's wife ("Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and "Standing on the Promises").
6. Tell about any special memories you have of that day, both sentimental and humorous. While I was singing, Kevin really, REALLY had to hold it in or else he would've started crying. His face looked pained at times.

1. Purple and yellow. (Purple iris and yellow daffodils)
2. We had 2 attendants ... 1 best man, 1 matron of honor
3. We didn't take digital photos, so I don't have any to post here.
4. We wrote our own vows, all based on bible passages about marriage. We had purple and yellow M&Ms on every table. Our guests sang praise and worship songs as part of the wedding ceremony. I walked down the aisle to "Joyful, Joyful" and we walked out to Handel's Messiah. We had 325 people at our morning wedding, which was followed by a champagne brunch with a string quartet. There were bubbles on every table. I wore decorated Keds with my long white dress.
5. We had classical organ music and praise music at our wedding ... a good friend played acoustic guitar and led worship during the ceremony. At the brunch following we had a string quartet that played Vivaldi and Copeland.
6. I spent my wedding night in the emergency room (out of town) ... my wonderful DH was a total trooper about the whole thing.
Our wedding was in mid-April, a lovely spring day in the upper 70s. We went to Yosemite for our honeymoon where it SNOWED (rather unexpectedly!)
We snuck home early after three days of honeymooning -- we didn't tell anyone -- so we could pack for our upcoming mood (and because I had some health issues.)
Our wedding actually started 10 minutes late because I was in the bathroom, throwing up. I warned the pastor that if I left the stage during the ceremony (to throw up again) ... to just "fill" ... that I'd be back. I made it through the ceremony, walked out with a smile on my face, then RAN to the bathroom for more throwing up. Sheesh. It was memorable, all right.

We were married on Christmas Eve day--I think at 2:00 pm, a small wedding in my parent's home. My sister was my attendant, my brother was his. My grandmother & uncle, both ordained ministers, performed the ceremony. My bouquet was deep red roses surrounded by dark green holly leaves. Our wedding cake was white, with embellishements of holly around it. The music was the theme from "Chariots of Fire"by Vangelis.

Bethany, were you two brothers involved in the wedding in any way?
I know Brian has a twin, but I don't know if he has any other siblings. Was/Were his siblings(s) involved in the wedding?

I'm pretty traditional, so there wasn't too much unusual stuff going on. We did have both of our dads read scripture, and I guess I haven't seen that done before. (We made his poor dad read the verse about "a man leaving his father and mother" and he got all emotional!)
