... talks to the American people more.

What's yours? (Let's not be partisan. Just things that you would hope the next President, whether it's your guy or not, would do)

stamper_ben -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/24/2008 4:47:58 PM)

...Keeps America safe.

earthless -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/24/2008 5:15:50 PM)

Keep America safe - stop giving money to nations that hate us.

SonInMe1 -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/24/2008 6:38:25 PM)

...stays out of my life

...is an effective leader and it doesn't matter in which direction.

...nominates Supreme Court Justices that interpret the constitution, not legislate from the bench

...is not Obama

...is not McCain

...did I say is not Obama?

litfire2000 -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/24/2008 7:48:59 PM)

...puts upholding the Constitution and Founding Documents of this country first and foremost

...does not work his/her own agenda

...does not work a party agenda

...respects ALL Americans equally

...puts upholding the Constitution and Founding Documents of this country first and foremost...all else would begin falling into place in time

sunshine4God -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/25/2008 1:14:17 PM)

is not Obama Lol.Sorry I couldn't resist.

eaglelady11 -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/25/2008 1:27:02 PM)

uses the tax payers money to rebuild the infrastructure of the United States

gets out of Iraq

looks for oil here in the states and with our allies

stops giving money to countries that hate us (that was great!)

stops going into debt and stops borrowing money form china

provides equality for all people, not based on discriminating practices

is not McCain, or for that matter, any "good ol' boy"

is not hypocritical

talks to the American people more and even lets them in on decision making processes

regulates major institutions so the taxpayers don't get bilked out of money

would try something new

uncabeeil -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/25/2008 3:38:45 PM)

Is willing to listen to "regular people" instead of insulated in a cocoon.
Has the guts to stand on his principles.

How about "I wish"? As in I wish the next president wasn't a career politician.

Talks to the American people less. Seriously.

I hate it when the President decides to hold a press conference and every channel has to air it, and then he doesn't even say anything worth listening to. That is not a partisan statement, because it doesn't matter who the President is, I don't want him interrupting the one time of the day I have to sit down and relax and do something I want to do. Especially during the season premiere of Criminal Minds.

rgsoundguy -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/25/2008 10:44:42 PM)

Is Ron Paul, or I will settle for Bob Barr. But seriously takes our nation back to its libertarian roots.

huangshan -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/26/2008 12:16:14 AM)

Has good character, good judgment, intelligence, a steady hand, creativity.

I hope the next president isn't a wannabe socialist.

a RINO

a socialist

a luddite

kernsfamily -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/26/2008 2:45:06 PM)

I just hope that the next President carries on, and preserves, as much as possible, the principles of "free enterprise", "capitalism", and "free markets".....

and, doesn't abandon them out of "political expediency"...

the VIABLE candidate that comes closest to expressing his desire to incorporate those ideas within his agenda, and not abandoning them, will have my vote.

I just deleted a bunch of posts for off topic and harassing users. If your post does not finish the sentence "I hope the next President..." then it is off topic.

Raises taxes, cuts spending, or both! (We need to get the deficit under control.)

SonInMe1 -> RE: I hope the next President... (9/26/2008 9:56:27 PM)

...is Ronald Reagan.

...does not want to affect or effect my life. I want a politician that promises nothing and does less. I want a small government.

...eats Ben and Jerry's new "human based" ice cream.

...takes all the monies earmarked for every welfare program and give it to the wealthiest in this country.

...will deport Jesse Jackson

...will drill every square inch of america for oil.

...will leave more power to local governments and less to the federal government to the point that Congress goes back to being a part time job.

...make donuts a health care benefit.

...will not run from our involvements around the world because it may not be popular.

...a real leader.
