I can watch birds for hours, esp during the fall when they are migrating south. I think we are directly under their flight path because i can hear them all hours. There's this lake that they all stay for a few hours to feed...and at times there's a million of them there, literally. It's amazing to watch how they try to gather their groups for take off. Another one of my pastime.

G & M, you should come over here right now. There's thousands of them just passing by our condo and they are making so much noise. My daughter hates them; I on the other hand love sleeping through their squacks. The only thing I hate is the droppings they leave behind.
I love the fall. My favourite season. I feel so calm and at peace when the leaves turn and the sound of the geese flying south just make it more appealing to me.

me too PH I love the fall.......the smell, sounds, and feel of it......I love that letting go of the past, in God's creation, is done with such beauty and peace

When I'm down and troubled, I think about Jesus on the cross. That pretty much stops me from having a pity party right then and there. Granted, this doesn't happen all of the time, but it's something that I've prayed about--that the Holy Spirit would remind me that my life's struggles and trials will never come close to what Jesus experienced.

I am that way when I think of all Jesus went through before even being hung on the cross........I can't imagine the walk......being beaten, abused, tortured and then walking your own cross to the hill........I think how I would have quit, with no strength to carry on,my eye sight limited to seeing only what was before me in this world....... and then I think what thoughts kept him going......what thoughts keep me going?
Seeing the cross as he dragged his body towards it is not what I think kept him going...... but being able to see what is beyond the cross.....
When I am really struggling with the hard complicated circumstances of life I remind myself to look beyond the cross and to know that what Jesus saw was so worth walking towards.......just as what is in our futures is so worth walking towards........

LOL! Joy, I could really learn a lot from you about elaborating my thoughts.  When I Jesus on the cross, my thought process includes his life and the events leading up to his crucifixion. Too bad people can't jump into my mind. :)

LOL Shema I knew what you meant.......Your words just opened the thoughts up in my mind........As I read what you wrote I began thinking of all He went through and how I would not have continued......I mean why would anyone......
here you are beaten almost to death and they want you to carry a cross up a hill so they can nail you to it.......why even try........lay down and let them kill you right there and them so you don't have to suffer anymore......
A about a week ago the thought crossed my mind.......how nice it would be just to lay down and not wake up........
But then I think........what did he see.......beyond the cross you know.....whatever it was had to be so amazing, so wonderful that the pain of the cross was a price worth paying......
I wonder how many things in my life are worth paying even a fraction of that price for? I can only think of one thing....and I think it was one of the things Jesus saw as well......a relationship between him and I
Please know my post was only thoughts, prompted by yours, which took my thoughts further.......make sense?
Have I said that a lot tonight? It seems like I have to me LOL
