About a year ago, the threads were getting kind of boring. We could go whole days with a few posts. Everyone was commenting on how slow it was. So I decided to register this profile to liven things up a little with a touch of mystery.

I am...Daniel J. Mount.

I'm thinking of announcing my identity at the Forums Lunch at NQC next year. But since you're one of the people who guessed closest, I thought I'd let you know early on the condition that you keep the secret until then.

By the way, did you tell jlpoll and MissGizmo who you thought I was? If so, I might need to enlist your help to get them off the scent so that I can keep this a surprise until NQC.

Status: offline 		Janis, I think that people were upset because they wanted to know (and expected that) his identity would be revealed quickly after the meet and greet at NQC. But nobody had actually promised to do that.

And I don't know that we really expected a real Grandpa, some of the guesses say as much.

I think that Daniel carried it off well for a long period and we should just appreciate the joke.

Disclaimer: Daniel does not need me to defend him, but it is just my natural instinct.

I believe that my doing so in spite of the fact that I have not yet received my autographed first edition of his book shows what a great guy I really am.

So, you see, the story is entirely true. That's a fact with my hand held up.
