Kerrlaw -> Are there any "nose" sins? (9/9/2008 10:25:37 PM)

The eyes can lust.

The ears can hear gossip.

The mouth can lie.

And there are all sorts of "touching" sins.

But are there any "nose" sins?

armydude -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/9/2008 10:29:51 PM)

Yep. Sticking ones nose where it don't belong.[;)]

phosadaud -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/9/2008 10:37:51 PM)

I can't think of any sins caused by the nose, but I can think of a few things that are sins against the nose. For instance: Not wearing deoderant or having chili before spending time in an enclosed space with me. [8D]

BBfan -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/9/2008 10:49:21 PM)

SNORING!!!!

MyCatSmokey2006 -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/9/2008 11:05:23 PM)

Yes, sniffing illegal substances, like cocaine.

Memaw. -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/9/2008 11:11:02 PM)

Sneezing out icky stuff.[:'(]

But isn't the innocent nose just a passageway to the central nervous system? They don't actually smell the stuff.

While unpleasant, these hardly rise to the level of sins.[8|]

You obviously have never been near my hubby's family ... it should be a sin that their snoring easily rivals (if not surpasses) the decibel level of a 747 taking off!!! [;)]

Oh yeah?
Sneezing icky stuff on a steering wheel and leaving it is most definitely a sin![:@]

AND snoring CAN (and has been rumored) to cause someone to murder....so I would say it is a sin.[&:]

WhiteRoseBlessings -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/10/2008 12:45:13 AM)

If brown-nosing isn't a sin, it should be.

MyCatSmokey2006 -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/10/2008 1:39:03 AM)

Blowing your nose at the dinner table shows lack of consideration for other dinners, so that should be a sin, shouldn't it? [;)]

Covaan_Meshuga -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/10/2008 1:49:03 AM)

Having a hot nose is likely all right, because when G-d gets upset with people in the Bible, read in Hebrew, it sometimes says that His nose got hot. [:D]

Nose sins . . . . Nose sins . . . .

How about . . . no, not that.

Hm . . . .

OneOfHisJewels -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/10/2008 3:14:27 AM)

I guess if the nose is smelling to much good food, and then you go overeat...although that's maybe the nose being more of a temptation..

I guess if I whiff too heavily of some guys cologne...and let it lead my thoughts down a path it shouldn't......

Or if I go to a destitute place..such as an orphanage in a 3rd world country sniff deeply and snottily tell them their place stinks...that's a sin that started off with the nose........

I'm in agreement here. I Timothy 5:13 and Titus 2:3 say the same.

mvic -> RE: Are there any "nose" sins? (9/10/2008 6:02:34 AM)

Looking down one's nose in a condescending manner at other people. Especially if you're upper class ... don't you know !!! Rather posh. What?

Very effective "nose" sin if you happen to be tall.

Now that's a sin which you wouldn't be able to commit if you had no nose. You'd be looking down alright - but not in a condescending manner. Also you wouldn't be able to commit this nose sin if you were short. You just can't possibly look UP at people in a condescending manner - regardless whether you were upper class posh or not.

Don't you know ... old boy ... pass me the sherry please?

What if Cocaine becomes legal - is it then ok?

That's kind of what I was thinking about the Ears and "hearing gossip", as mentioned in the OP...

HEARING gossip isn't the "sin"....it's what you DO AFTER you hear it (and, what you did in order to HEAR that gossip) that's a sin....

merely HEARING gossip isn't a sin......is it?

I think I would fall back on the "Our bodies are a temple" idea regarding that.

Smoking cigarettes is legal....but, certainly not something a Christian should be doing (as it ruins the body....REGARDLESS of how you use it, or how often you use it....as there is no "responsible" way to smoke a cigarette).....

Smelling something rotten in Denmark when there's nothing rotten to smell must be a sin.

If you hear it on purpose, I would think so.

Now, that was MEAN!

I scratched and leaned over to sniff it and spilled my chocolate mousse latte all over my tuna sandwich. Then, after I cleaned that mess up, I tried again, and the thing just smelled like the other day when my boss accidentally smeared ranch dressing on it when he pointed out my error using his sandwich.

(Man, I thought I had cleaned that all up, but it still smelled -- only more rank than it did last Thursday)
