After your flag has been burned, the ashes should be buried. If you cannot burn and bury the flag yourself, then there are several organizations that will retire your flag in a proper Any joy Scout or Serviceman could have told them that. Thsnks RC Make up your mind is it OK for libs to burn flags or not! [:D] Besides the flag is a symbol it not like its the Real Presence or some holy icon! Deifying a flag is idolatry IMO! How many posters with the name Jesus on them at religious rallies or festivals can we find in the trash! Having cleaned up several parks after some I can say lots! Throwing away a poster with a depiction of Christ or the word Jesus would be equal to throwing away a poster with a picture of the flag. No big deal. However would you just throw an old bible into the trash? I wouldn't. Tell all the Vets who spilled their blood on foreign soil that the flag is just a symbol, that it doesn't matter how it is disposed of. My son is a Boy Scout and every 4th of July they hold a ceremony where they burn old, worn out and discarded flags. They do it out of respect for the "symbol", out of respect for their country, and out of respect for the men and women who have died for their country.
