That is what happens when you are housebound with a very hyper-active 4 year old. I just re-read my post and corrected...that wasn't a spelling mistake but the WRONG word...must have been answering Abby when I typed that!!!

It's suppose to be "It's funny how folks VIEW things isn't it?"

Southern Gospel Rock! Priceless! The name conjures up all sorts of visions (some quite disturbing!).

Speaking of the Nelons....does anybody remember Kelly's solo projects from the early 90's, "KNT" and "Steadfast Heart"....those were my introduction to her amazing voice, and to me still wouldn't sound out of place under the Southern Gospel banner....

I kinda wonder if going the Contempary Route on songs might be what's wrong with some of the attendance at concerts. I think, at least in our area, that people like the old Southern Gospel Songs. New Southern Gospel Songs also go over well, but when you have the Contempary or Praise & Worship type of songs people just don't seem to enjoy it as much. They probably get enough of that at their Church, so they are looking for concerts for that GOOD OLE SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC.

AMEN to that!!!
I so agree with you!

I went to a Nelon concert recently and it was fabulous. They can out sing almost any group in the industry. Kelly was smooth as always and Amber has star quality. Jason vocals are great as well but the biblical emcee work he does is wonderful. I went there as a sceptic, but left a believer in the ministry of The Nelons. They sang everything from hymns, to old classics like The Sun's Coming Up to I'll Talk To My Father to the most beautiful rendition of The Lamb of God sung by Kelly, and yes they did some P&W very tastefully. There was nothing that would not be perfect in any church on a Sunday Morning. I don't think anyone should bash them till they hear them. The Spirit of God was mosty definetly there. Isn't that what it is all about? Oh by the way 5 people were saved!
