Who do you think is going to win and why? Have you given this much prayer and research?

I be the first to cast my thoughts. I'm confident McCain will win. I've reviewed factcheck.org to review both candidates claims. I see exaggerations on both sides. I believe in these uncertain times we need a leader with experience and character. McCain has strong military and foreign policy experience as oppose to Obama who has a lot of rhetoric and displays very gifted oratorial skills. Obama does show excitement and energy in mobilizing people. I'd like to see him do that as senator and pass more favorable bills.

McCain is pro-life...Obama is pro-choice. This is just a small tad. I really believe it is the will of God for him to win. It is God who appoints the king and I believe and am praying that His will be done.

My bold prediction is McCain!!!!!!

I believe that McCain will win. I thought this before he picked Palin but now I believe it even more.

Palin ignited a fire under the Conservatives. People who weren't giving are now. People are starting to come out in support and volunteering. They will be going door to door.

The negative press about Palin is angering a lot of people, not just women and this will come back to bite NObama.

McCain did a great job with his speech pointing out his stance on issues.

All NObama keeps coming back with is "That's more of the same; that's not change. McCain voted with Bush 95% of the time". That's all he keeps saying. People are getting tired of it especially as McCain continues to show that his economic plans are not the same as Bush's.

And by the way, NObama voted along party lines 98% of the time.

He says change doesn't come from Washington but rather it comes to Washington. However both him and Biden are Washington insiders.

That's not change, that's more of the same! More of the same do nothing Democrats who have a majority in the congress with the lowest approval rating in history. And he's agreed with them 98% of the time!

The Democrats should've had this presidential election easily based off the trend of Bush's low approval rating (war, economy, mortgage crisis, gas prices) and their reclamation of Congress in '06. With Obama and Biden, I think they've found a way to blow it again, like with Kerry in '04. They may still pull it out, but at this point I give a slight edge to McCain, boosted by his pick of Palin for VP.

Two Issues:

1. Economy

2. Iraq War

....and on both counts, McCain has faild to convey how his policies would differ from Bush.

I'm not a big McCain fan either, but given the choice and who I discern to be God choice...I strongly believe he's the one for this hour.

From what I read, its going to be extremely close, hinging on a few states.

The best analysis I saw was, 'its Obama's race to win'. If he is able to make a good case and get people comfortable he is 'presidential' and some good policy initiatives out there, he has a good chance of winning.
If he doesn't do this, McCain will probably win.

The wild-cards here are
1) World events.
2) Race.

I didn't vote, because all the rules have changed this time around and as has been proven, anything can happen.

My gut tells me that Obama is in the beginning stages of self destruction, and that McCain will eke out a victory as a result.

But I'm not going to stand firm on that assertion...

I think it's going to be an incredibly close race - closer, perhaps, than the 2000 election! But please, no hanging chads, no trips to the Supreme Court Ultimately, I believe John McCain will prevail.

I voted Obama. This is who I think will win --- but it will Not be by my hands!!

I've actually been back and forth. Now, I'm leaning toward not voting for president.

Reasons? Well, I live in Georgia which will go overwhelmingly republican, so it doesn't matter. Moreover, McCain will win in a landslide, I'm completely convinced of that, regardless of what the polls say. So I thought about voting for Obama so when my grandkids ask me what it was like voting for the first black presidential candidate, I could tell them and not have to lie. And when McCain and Palin run roughshod over this country I could claim I voted for the other guy. But in the end, I think I'll just sit this one out.

Funny, I'm on the flip-side:
I've actually been back and forth. One day I will vote for McCain, the next I'm leaning toward not voting for president.

Reasons? Well, I live in Maryland which will go; always does; overwhelmingly Democrat, so it doesn't matter. Moreover, Obama will win. I'm completely convinced of that. So some days I think about voting for McCain so that when my grand-kids and great-grand-kids ask me if I voted for the first US black presidential candidate, I could tell them NO and not have to lie. And when Obama and Biden run roughshod over this country and it no longer looks like, much less IS no longer, the United States of America that I grew up in, was proud of, and loved --- I could claim I voted for the other guy. But in the end, I think I'll just sit this one out.

I have not a clue, LBolt.

But sure praying for the ones who are going to win as we get to see all the particular issues we need to know in details and clarity of their plataforms. Plus the debates!!!

How you people can be certain ? I do admire that hope in people, maybe would feel the same as each one of you feel about your choices, if I had a party of choice or candidates to represent me but I dont embrace any of those 2 at all.

Its unbeliavable we have soooo many choices regarding so many things in USA reggarding products etc, one can become crazy deciding each one to take home and when election comes we have just 2 as choices goes.

Yes, I do think it is "the best ticket: McCain/Palin.

And IF the election was won on Popular Vote I would have voted ( above) for McCain. McCain will run away with the Popular Vote!! But the Popular Vote does not win Presidential Elections.

More common for the popular vote to mirror the electorial vote than not.

It should be very close post-Palin speech and resurgence in support for the GOP ticket and new money....

I still say Obama wins, though. But by close margin.

McCain will win by such a huge margin, at least 45 states and by 30 points, that a black person will never run for President again, no matter what his qualifications. Ever. In history. Maybe a hispanic when they become the majority in this country, but a black person? Won't happen.

Obama will have a landslide victory. History shows that when the public have had very poor leadership for the last four or eight years, they will naturally vote for the opposing party regardless. So the Democrats were already going to win thanks to Bush.

But then along comes Barack Obama. He's a history changing candidate. He was the first black man to have a real chance at becoming president, now he's the first black man to receive the nomination of a major party and people are getting really excited at the prospect of him becoming the first black man to be president. So the history making aspect of Barack Obama, plus Bush's deplorable leadership, give the Democrats a favourable chance at winning this election.

But wait, Barack Obama's not only history making, he's actually a darn good candidate. He's been right 90% of the time while John McCain has voted with Bush 90% making him wrong 90% of the time. He has the ability to deliver powerful and inspirational speeches. He inspires people to actually want change and care about their country and this election. As Bill Maher said in his season debut last Friday, listening to Obama's acceptance speech at the DNC made Democrats understand why Republicans are so passionate and emotional about Ronald Reagan. Democrats felt the same thing listening to Barack Obama that the Republicans felt listening to Ronald Reagan. He's inspired Democrats, Liberals and a large majority of the moderate non-partisan American public more than any candidate has in years. I was going to say, 'not since Bill Clinton', but Obama may be even more inspiring than Clinton even.

So now you add the fact that he has inspired people and made them excited for the next 4-8 years under his leadership, to the fact that he's a history changing candidate and the public's anger and need for change after Bush's deplorable leadership, you've got a sure-fire landslide victory for Barack Obama.

John Kerry was so close to winning the 2004 election. It was heart-breaking that he lost. But the fact is, he came so close. He brought out the largest youth vote in years. People were angry at Bush, angry because of the war. Now another Republican candidate who has voted with Bush 90% of the time and his only plan for Iraq is to stay, is asking for your vote. He's nuts. Any Republican candidate who came into this race saying they support the war and will not withdraw troops until the "mission" is completed, had already lost. McCain went into this election with that same attitude so he never had a chance to begin with. Nothing has changed that. His VP pick hasn't changed that. The RNC speeches definitely haven't changed anything.

The polls aren't accurate. Never have been. Fox News will tell you it's a close race and that McCain has a strong chance. They're pulling your leg. Republicans are kidding themselves if they think they can beat the most inspiring, history-making candidate ever. They aren't that rich.
