Go to Google.

Google "Palin speech".

Look at the two sponsored links that come up.

Discuss.

You mean the Dem Convention and Barack Obama.com?

The Dems paid for key words on google - not suprising, even pretty savvy - but a ploy nonetheless.

That's what I mean.

Isn't that a bit of a cheap shot/cheating?

Especially since the official DNC website lists it as "Sarah Palin's Speech" and then sends you to a place that I really doubt will ever host Sarah Palin's speech.

Interestingly the BarackObama.com site just dropped out, from what I can see.

Interestingly the other link has vanished too now... I wonder if the dems took them down, or if Google figured it out?

They may have only paid for a certain number of clicks. It's not really cheating, since it's perfectly legal - but it certainly coud be misleading for many.

Yeah, well, I could buy a bunch of McCain stickers and then offer them as Obama stickers to Obama supporters, and it would still be underhanded.

It's not cheating. It's low class. It's tacky. It isn't going to work, but it's not cheating.

Cheating is an act of lying, deception, fraud, trickery, imposture, or imposition. Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one's own interest, and often at the expense of others.

This is a definition of cheating. They portrayed themselves as something they were not. The action was employed to create an unfair advantage in their own interest at the expense of others.
