Oooh, MediaMatters, more "proof" from a leftist website. So I guess it's okay if I quote WorldNetDaily?

The transcripts in question are there vis-a-vis Hannity's own mouth. WorldNutDaily would never use such sourcing. They'd just plagiarize it from some other source, and pass it off as their own, or make it up out of whole cloth.

You're right, MediaMatters would never alter or make anything up to suit their own agenda (like those pesky WorldN utDaily folks), right?

Video source clips accompany most all of MM's pieces to allow for cross-checking, and confirmation. It's called doing one's research - y'know, that thing that Hannity or Fox "News" in general hardly bothers to do? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/29/fox-news-lincoln-douglas_n_99331.html

If the theme of the Republican convention is going to be "Everything's A-OK Ya'll!", and they fail to acknowledge the economy, they are going to loose big time. Half of the GOP convention's rhetoric will be dedicated to propping up McCain as Captain America, and the rest will be about figuratively roasting Obama at the stake. The problem here, though, is that if the Republicans dedicate so much time to the above, when will they discuss actual issues? But I can't wait to see Cheney and Bush speak. That should make for some great ironic moments, in addition to a lot of historical revisionism. You could say the exact same thing about this Democratic Convention. Look how much time they've spent trying to fix all of NObama's image problems, trying to make him look like the average joe, one of us. And then he is going to blow it tonight with his grandiose appearance at Mile High Stadium. Same for the bashing, Hillary, Bill and Biden all went on and on about McCain. And then there was all the hypocrisy going on, gag!

I see a lot of clips that MediaMorons aficianados might not like, but they hardly constitute "lying" or "character assassination"....

Bunch of baby killers! Right....thanks for that thoughtful, and well-reasoned retort. So when a woman goes to a clinic to have an abortion, it's the Democrats fault? Barack Obama or Bill Clinton made her do it. One would think the "baby killer" in question would be the mother herself. Why aren't you comdemning those women?

Partisan bickering aside, I hope you have a great birthday (I've already hit the big 4-0, it's really not that bad)

In the interests of political harmony and trouser ferrets, I thank you. Some pals and I are meeting up for a Japanese hibachi dinner, and then playing laser tag afterwards.

Happy b-day, Todd. I will celebrate my b-day this weekend also. We were thinking of a Mongolian grill followed by paintball (no good lasertag places close by). Great minds, I guess....

In spite of our differences on most issues, I hope you have a Happy Birthday. And stop fretting over the 40 thing. Life begins at 40. -Dave quote:

If I weren't afraid of getting sick to my stomach watching the pomp and extravaganza, I'd love to see the heavens open up and the Obamessiah descend from Mount Olympus to the Greek temple. That should be quite a sight! I wonder if they'll have fireworks too. -Dave

By the way, I thought Clinton knocked it out of the park last night, and probably gave the best speech of the convention. I have to admit, even though he's a dog, the man can give a speech when he has to.

I thought Hillary's speech was strong also, but Bill can transfix audiences at 2AM while discussing penguin migrations. He can be just that good.

From what I understand, the Greek-style decor is intended to mimic the White House's similar architecture - not the Acropolis. IMO, the event's staging should be almost Spartan. quote:
I wonder if they'll have fireworks too. Actually, Dave, I think they're supposed to have sky fire. A mistake, I think. Too over the top. However, one thing Obama's critics can't say (unlike their criticism of him wowing 20,000 Berliners) is that the 80,000 people in the audience are not American and cannot vote.

Thought I'd mention that technically the Mile High Stadium doesn't exist anymore. It was torn down in favor of the tax-raising, non-roofable, we'll-never-have-a-superbowl-there-either, contract-given-to-a-relative-of-the-mayor monstrosity known as "Invesco Field at Mile High". It's almost over, and downtown appears to still be standing (at least from here.) Then it's Minnesota's problem. :D quote:
However, one thing Obama's critics can't say (unlike their criticism of him wowing 20,000 Berliners) is that the 80,000 people in the audience are not American and cannot vote. Packing a stadium with 80,000 people who actually like your presidential candidate is not really all that great of a feat, for either party. You could still probably find 80,000 people who actually want to hear a Celine Dion concert if you really had to. Or at least would be willing to act enthusiastic about it. >.> <.< *grin*
