And the 2007-08 Dems have done.................? Nothing. But that's not all bad. At least they haven't been able to steal any more of my money or take away any more of my freedoms. Come to think of it, I wish Congress would stay in recess for several years.

Precisely.

It's not like the Dems could do worse than the 2000-2006 Republicans.........

Had Obama gambled with Hillary (and Bill,) I think he would've won the election hands down. With Biden, I'm not so sure.

IMO, Bill was the obvious wild card in the deal.

I don't think he could resist hanging around the White House, and sticking his nose into Obama's policy matters.

Hey, todd, I think you're probably dead on in your election results prediction...I think McCain will win, but it will be by the slimmest of margins.

Obama seems to really be starting to stumble as they head into the home stretch...which is a shame for the Dems, since current circumstances favor them so much....

"Ladies and gentlemen, my wife Jill, who you'll meet soon, is drop dead gorgeous," Biden said in Springfield, Ill., Saturday in his first speech as Barack Obama's running mate. "She also has her doctorate degree, which is a problem.

FYI - that was said as a joke comparing her scholastic record to his.

And here I thought the "drop dead gorgeous" line was the comparison to him.

The doctorate degree line was to pander to the unwashed masses...

It's just a guess for now that McCain would win because voters feel he is better defined than Obama. However, I'm looking forward to the two squaring off in debate.

The election will come down to how voters feel McCain or Obama would handle the nation's economic issues. I don't think matters like Iraq will have as much resonance this cycle.

However, if McCain is elected, I think he'll be a one-termer. I have nagging questions about his health, and ability to handle the serious rigors (mental and physical) of the presidency.

Just as McCain's comment was a joke when asked what he considered rich to be. He jokingly responed $5 mil and even said immediately after that it would be taken out of context.

But the Dems had no problem running with that one did they?

Just like they did with the 100 years in Iraq. All they really seem to have are sound bites taken out of context, slogans and bumper stickers.

I have no patience at all with either party when it comes to misleading statements. Dem's do it. Republicans do it. People here on the forums do it.

It's not an honorable thing to do. I don't care who does it.
