I am not sure. I know the IBM BLUE chess program was beaten years ago. I am not sure if they have one now that is unbeatable. I have Chessmaster 9000, and I certainly can't beat it, lol.

I never had anyone who knew anything about chess play or teach me and no one around me all that interested either, though I did take my kids to the chess club each week when they were little.
I don't drink coffee but I love tea. I'm currently drinking a tea from Turkey my son brought back for me earlier this summer. It's quite good.
One of my goals is to read through the classics. I've been downloading them onto my palmtop and reading them there. The only disadvantage to that is that I don't get to have the actual volumes on my shelves. I was really surprised when I read Dracula. It wasn't what I expected. Same with Frankenstein. I love Tolstoy, Joseph Conrad and Victor Hugo.

I really enjoyed Frankenstein. It's not at ALL like what you see in the movies.
Probably my biggest cultural geekiness relates to music. I love classical and I love to sing classical.

Cool thread definately subbing.
My favorite coffee is Illy. It is smooth yet has somewhat of a smoky flavor, not burnt, just a hint of smokiness. I figured out a few years back that if I am buying all kinds of flavored things to put in my coffee, it is probably because I am not buying the right coffee. I love Illy coffee, but it is hard to get and more than my budget can handle, so I drink Cracker Barrel coffee instead, which is also good.
Enjoyed the Iliad, never got through Odyssey, but I going to try again at some point. Right now I am reading Thomas Hobbes, Leviathan. I put it down months ago when some other books got in the way, I just picked it up again. Thank God it has explanatory notes.
As classic book reader, I highly recommend David Copperfield, it is one of my favorites.
I play chess and I was trying to teach my youngest to play but one of the pieces from my marble set got lost in our last move and I have not played since.  I keep hoping that it will just turn up somewhere.

I loved David Copperfield - esp. Uriah Heep!! LOL great character!!!
One book I enjoyed, once I got "into" it was Vanity Fair by Thackeray. Becky Sharp rocks!

I liked the old old Phantom of the Opera movie with Claude Raines. I did not like the new one as I generally don't like to have an entire story sung to me. LOL (which is why I'm not much for operas, I guess)

Well my favorite coffee has to be Tanzanian Peaberry or a Sumatra.
Lioness, its no wonder you like Kenya AA, its often described as a "winey" coffee.
As far as tea, when I worked in the coffee shop we had this one that was a honeysuckle citrus that was divine! I wish I could remember the brand it was.
I don't play chess.
I love classical music, theatre and opera.
I just finished reading "Wuthering Heights", which to me didn't end quite like I thought it would.
I may just have to get a copy of Dracula.
Do I pass the test?!?!

Yay! I must say that I have a love for classic sounding voice such as Josh Groban, Charlotte Church and Andrea Bocelli. I love listening to Italian Arias.
Phantom of the Opera is coming this season. I hope to go see it. We actually have a great season this year. I'd like to buy tickets for the season, but its $400 and I can't swing that right now.

Wuthering Heights is an interesting story.
It's the only story I know of where you absolutely can not STAND the hero or the heroine and yet you keep reading because you want to find out what happens to them - and you just don't feel sorry for them because they're both a couple of selfish jerks...yet, you are drawn to them.
Kind of like the theology folder, I guess.
