My thoughts exactly.

If you see someone here that writes favorable posts you can just PM them and say hi. Go from there.

Well, what I really meant was,I want some friends to do stuff with me here. I want someone I can talk to and walk with and hang out with.

How is that a Singles related subject? Just curious.

Perhaps it could be that as singles, we would like to find ways of meeting other singles whom we can relate with?

I am not sure of sites though. That penpals one looks interesting. Maybe there's a way you can search by area?

I'd say its a singles subject! I have a HARD time finding like-minded friends my age.

Most of the people my age at church are married and have kids. I have a great friend that has kids and lives near me, but sometimes you need someone in the same place as you too.

I don't have college classes or groups anymore to make friends in, and my "friend" pool at work is limited (plus, its nice to have friends outside of work).

So - its honestly a little tough sometimes! I'd be really interested in a "friend" (NON dating) site.

I'm a Single woman, looking for some single women to hang around and enjoy life. Everyone my age is married and there are no singles in my church. Well there are a few and I am freinds with one,but she's a home body. Doesn't like to go out or do too much. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only 30 something that isn't married around here. I have no problem making friends with people,it's just that they are either married or much older than me. I like to hang with people in their 50's and 60's and even 70's. But,I'm young and I need to have some friends my age.

Thanks for the clarification.......this site is one of the best for finding friends.

I think this will lead into the old friends or potentials discussion but one of the problems in this area is that usually people (most guys that is) are looking for more than just friends. I mean, if I want just friends there's people I already know who I can hang out with (most of them married though). Why invest the time into someone new who has no potential for anything more?

To be truthful I've not just hung out with a lady as a friend since high school (and I'm not even sure about then, it was a while ago after all).

Are you looking for guy friends or girl friends (Same sex or opposite sex)?
I know that in some of the major cities they have Open University sort of things where they teach all sorts of fun courses. Could be a good way to meet people. Join a club that interests you. Do volunteer work (habitat for humanity, Humane society etc)

That sounds a lot like my church. I have 2 single friends at church- one guy, and one girl. Pretty much everyone else our age is married with kids. I'm 29, so I'm past the college stage, so it's been hard to find single Christian friends in my area also. I know they're out there somewhere, just not at my church. Online wise, it's been nice to find single people on here that I can relate to. I post on another board, but there is no forum for singles. I'm glad I found this site. For meeting new friends in my area, I think the volunteering or joining a club are good ideas. I will have to give that a try.

It would sound like the OP is looking for same sex friends. Even if it was opposite then that's her choice and I don't think she intended to make it a debate here. But if you can find people here that live in your area that would be nice for you. [:)]
