wow, I bet you never thought that is what you wanted to grow up to be... do you like living near the ocean?

I sorta fell into it...discovered that I liked to draw, but had absolutely NO artistic talent for it, so drafting seemed like a logical next choice. Also, since I'm sorta a geek, and wanted to be an engineer (until I flunked calc 1 twice), it was the next best thing.

I live about 45 minutes from Virginia Beach...and never go there! I live on a peninsula, so I'm surrounded by nice, tame beaches, 2 rivers and the Chesapeake Bay. I love it here, even during "tourist season"...I'm near a lot of really historical places, you could say our country was born about 20 minutes up the road from me...and even better (for me) the space program was born about 15 minutes east of me. (yeah, I'm a HUGE geek, never mind sorta).

I am 32, married for 3 years, no kids. I just quit the workforce after working full time for 10 years in higher education. I plan to enjoy my time NOT being stressed 9 hours a day and working on starting my own business. We've been hoping to have a baby for two years now, but one hasn't come yet.

I think I am the oldest to post here --I am 60--never been married--have 2 feline "children". I work full time--involved in a women's bible study, in the children's program. Also involved in my church's congregational care ministry.

I'm 24, never been married (never even had a serious relationship) no children but I do have 4 nieces and nephews (ages 18 months - 10yrs old). I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was 9. Prayerfully I'm a new attorney (I'm waiting on a passing score from the Bar exam I took in July; results don't come out until November). Im trying to learn how to live my life without it being governed by semesters!! :-)

It might take a little adjusting, but over 2 years later, I'm still not missing it!

Next poll question: Do you work inside the home, outside the home, full time or part time

Outside the home part-time
Outside the home full-time
Inside the home (my own business)
Inside the home (SAHW/SAHM)
In the middle of changing directions

I work inside the home (SAHW/M). I will probably work outside the home again when my children are mostly grown. I'd like to teach someday. I can see my husband and I having a business in the future, so I will probaby work at home in the next few years.

I work outside the home part time in a temporary job. In February, I hope to go back to being a SAHW who solely works inside the home. Two things could happen with my job: it could turn full time or it could be a seasonal job where I worked for 15 hours for 5 weeks surrounding our conferences. If it turns into full time, there is a possibility of sharing it with another person or giving it up. I'm not sure what will happen, but my heart is really in homemaking and not in a career.

I voted outside the home full-time, but I also wanted to vote "in the middle of changing directions." In 5ish weeks I'll go on maternity leave. After that I will go back to work part-time. One of the huge blessings of being a nurse! So then I will consider myself a SAHM that works part-time. Is that legal to phrase it that way? I guess I also work from home a little too....dh has his own business, and I do all the bookwork and billpaying for the business.

I'm a SAHM, although I've looked into getting a part time job or starting a small business. The doors seemed to have stayed closed, and so maybe God's trying to tell me that it's not the season for making an income for me right now.

I'm a SAHM right now, but soon I'll be working part-time outside the home, just for a little while.

Maybe you just haven't found the right business. Have you thought about what you want to do? I know that I am partly doing what I want, but only partly. There are other things I want to do, just that now is not the time. I also know that working is not a choice, but a necessity so I found the two things that work best for now. One is going to stay but the other one has to go.

The closest one is a half hour away. I'd have to work an hour just to pay for my gas. It wouldn't fit into my well right now anyway, and we're making enough money for our needs. We can't go get anything we want, but that's okay. I don't want a Taco Bell job anymore anyway. I'd like to go back to school in a few years and major in English. I need to concentrate on homeschooling the kids, though, at this time. I don't think I could realistically add in a part time job and be able to do well in the other things I'm doing. Extra money would be nice, but I don't think that's what God wants me to just yet, not this year anyway.

That's a VERY healthy attitude. Good for you.
I don't blame you for not wanting to work at Taco Bell either. You put in your time. Now it's time to enjoy being a mom.

I work outside the home. I guess for the moment its part time, but that is so we can spend time with out little guy in the hospital (2 hours away). When he comes home I will stay home with him for a few weeks. I know I'll go back to work but we are weighing the option of part time at least through the winter to keep him out of day cares and at home.

I work outside the home full time. Like I mentioned before, my desire is to work part time outside the home. It will really take G-d's intervention to be able to do that though.

I work outside of the home full time. I am a part time student.

(I go home and work part time around the house, too. Thankfully the kidlets are VERY helpful)

I'm 37, I work full-time, I'm in my...14th?...year of a career that has included television news, higher education and various computer/internet/software/technology stuff. I have a BA and currently manage web content for a community college.

I've been married for a year and a half. My husband is the same age. We have no children and can't decide if we want any. I'm leaning toward no this week.

I forgot to put Student in the poll.

OK. If you are a student, select work outside the home. If you work and go to school, you are definitely full-time.
