If you stay on the home page of www.shrinkpictures.com you can go to custome resizing and resize to 145 pix and you will have the SN avatar size. You don't usually loose any of the picture when you use this method.

I'm one of those who was lucky enough to get the word about the site some time ago, like SharMar. I love it! End of struggling!

And like you, Sam, I sometimes do a little cropping before I put it through the avatar resizing to get just what I want.

I do sometimes wish it didn't square off the pictures, or maybe there was an option to leave them the shape they were originally, but oh well.

I think it automatically squares them. You can only put in one ig the sizes and it makes it square from that.

Yes, it does. And I have some nice rectangular pictures I'd like to post, and it makes squares out of them. But I guess beggars can't be choosers. I'm just glad this is so easy.

I have a 145 picture, and CW still won't let me upload it. Says the file is to big. I tried again with 120, still to big.

*Sigh* That happens to me a lot, sometimes those files are just huge. I don't know why. There's a website that I'll post here when I get home (don't know it right off, but I have it at home) that you can upload your picture to, you tell it the size (145) and it will turn it into an avatar. It will square it off and give you three choices (sort of a right, center, and left). Then you just save whichever you want to your computer. It's great!

I'll bookmark this post so I remember to post that site here later.
