But what if you aren't interested in him? Would you still want to know?

I think either way I would. If I'm not interested in him, by speaking up to me is one way to spark an interest and I may become interested in time.

Sometimes I'm not interested in men because I feel they're 'out of my league' and a waste of engery. When I find out one of these men are interested it definitely sparks an interest.

I have only been around a couple of men in my life that I wasn't completely interested in when interest was expressed and I did my best to eleminate any thought of pursual. Only one or two didn't get the hint and I ended up taking, well, drastic measures.

denial is NOT a good thing.......

Too much denial and it'll start sounding like John and his not flirting.

But I don't flirt! For the right woman I may compliment, tease and invite, but I don't flirt

***cough, cough, cough*** Don't even go there!

I didn't! (because I don't)

Okay guys - is it cool for girls to crush on you, and do you want to know about it?

Girls, same questions, but regarding guys.

This is actually a hard question. As most of you know I am looking for a woman with a very specific set of characteristics. That is, I have a LIST.

If the woman who is crushing on me meets the list or comes close then I would want to know (As I'd likely be interested in her too.)

If she doesn't fit, then I wouldn't want to know. I know that I am not responsible for how others feel, but if I knew she was crushing I'd feel bad because she was in a hopeless endeavor.

On the flip side, would I want a girl I was crushing on to know it? Probably. Because if I'm crushing she meets my list and the only way to see if I meet hers is to find out what she is looking for.

I would want to know either way. OBVIOUSLY, I'd want to know if I was interested as well. But for the reason above I'd want to know-- just so I know to keep my actions/words in check so as to not mislead the other person.

For some reason this thread makes me want to go back to junior high and pass notes to the cute girls asking if they like me and to check either yes or no.

Hahahaha! I actually suggested doing that with a friend. Unfortunately he was homeschooled all his life and didn't have a clue what I was talking about. *grin*

Poor guy, it was so much fun! Hehehe, I can still remember the first girl I asked out with a note sent me one back saying "No, I don't want to date until I'm married" I was confused then and I'm still confused today as to what that meant!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! It took me a second to figure out your confusion! *giggle*

I remember getting a note in 7th grade asking, "You are a true lady of the wheat field; would you mind giving this ol' cowboy a shot at bein' your boyfriend?" LOLOL Who could deny that?

Do you think adults would appreciate the "check yes or no" approach?

I personally think it would be cute.

Picture this: You're sitting in church, the pastor is about to start his message, suddenly the man sitting behind you taps your shoulder. You turn around and he whispers, "This is for you." Frowning you look at the folded piece of bulletin and open it. Written on a small corner (because there is so much on the bulletin already) is, "I like you. Will you go out with me? Check yes or no."

You turn around and three rows back you see him grinning and blushing, anxiously awaiting your response. You quickly scribble a response and pass it back. After church he comes to you blushing and stammering and offers to take you to ice cream.

Isn't that cute????

Yeah...it's kinda cute...but I'd rather have a guy who wasn't afraid to approach me...or wasn't *nervous* to, rather.

I like guys who are confident, (not cocky), and honest and open about who they like and what they want.

I only like to find out about it later ...

Like, IF (he he - welcome to the little fantasy world in my head) me and this guy either start talking, and then dating ... or start talking, and become friends ... it would be kinda cool to find out he'd been noticing me too.

However! I remember a situation back in high school when I started dating someone, and I got a nasty phone call from someone about "Why didn't you tell me you didn't like me?" WHA? I had NO idea he was crushing on me ... and didn't like finding out in such a creepy way.

Passing notes was fun back then. I remember passing a note to a bank teller and told him to give it to another bank teller. In the note, I told the guy that I had two tickets to a football game, and I worked in the 10th floor of the building, and if he would like to come, just give me a call at work. Within half an hour, he called and I had one of the greatest dates I've had in life. He's now my ex, lol. He's my daughter's dad.

I'd still do pass notes if I'm heavily crushing on someone. I think that's kind of cute. I did that at one time at the gym, and the guy graciously accepted my number, but he never called. Turns out that he had a girl friend. Well, a girl's gotta take some risk. I draw the line at making the first move. After that, a man has to pursue me, otherwise, it's not going to go anywhere.

I'm not sure I would like that as a first-time thing (like, we'd never talked but he did that) ...

BUT ... someone I'd been talking to, or dating, or a spouse? I'd love it :) I LOVE the idea of someone sneaking me little love notes ... or like notes :)

This is TOO WEIRD for words.

Right after reading/replying to the post about the notes ... someone I dated in high school called me.

His parents recently moved, and brought him a load of boxes from the attic in their previous house. In one of them, he said he found about 100 notes from me.

I hate to even think what they said - or that they still exist!

I have only been around a couple of men in my life that I wasn't completely interested in when interest was expressed and I did my best to eleminate any thought of pursual. Only one or two didn't get the hint and I ended up taking, well, drastic measures.

And they never did find the bodies, did they?
