BaldEagle - I too am sorry that you feel unwelcome. I've felt like that before as well. The only advice that I can give you is to give these things a little time. I don't chat a lot - but for a few weeks I was chatting a lot. I felt very unwelcome at first, but over time, people were starting to get to know me. I'd sign on, read responses for a while, then strike up a conversation with one or two people. Then the next time, I'd do the same thing and so on. Before I knew it, people were starting to recognize my user name and it was becoming more friendly. If I were still chatting, I'd probably feel totally welcome. I post in the forums. I've been on crosswalk off and on for a few years. But only in the past year have I been a regular. There are certain folders that I stay away from - because it is more about debate than about relationship. If I were looking for intense debate that would be fine - but I am looking for more fellowship than anything else. So, I prefer other folders. I like the writer's roundtable - they are really nice. And the humor and games folder, the he says/she says, women's, and my personal favorite - the single's folder. There are other great folders too. I didn't feel welcome in the single's folder for a while. I'd post and everyone would continue their conversations and post around me. A couple of people welcomed me in - and I started interacting with them. I also learned to really watch where the thread was going, then jump in - and ask good questions. While I can't say that I feel 100% part of the core group that is there, I do feel accepted there, and I am learning more and more about the people who post there - there are a lot of great people there. What I'd say is, like any thing else, these things take time. Just continue to be friendly - perhaps target a couple of forums that you can post to regularly or chat rooms that you can visit regularly and let things go from there. You sound like you are a friendly person and I'm sure that God can use that to bless many. And welcome to crosswalk! rgod
