saved_from_wrath: are you an aging hippie? Is that why Dr. McGee's remarks offend you?

You hit it...I am an aging hippie. Its hard to think about an hour west and south where he was Chuck smith started the Jesus movement. Fuller Sem not to far from the Church of the open door, John Wimber started a movement too,

ORIGINAL: saved_from_wrath I know I have nothing to do with this and I never will. I think they should bury his radio shows. He's dead. I kind of have a thing if they are dead and have not written the bible they are not high on my priority list. Because he's dead He's not going to say anything new. The stuff that I heard him say regarding hippies is down right derogatory. Christendom can overcome pulling the plug. Give the staff a severance I am sure some of his groupies will kick me back something...more than welcome to So what you're telling us is that when someone dies everything they've done becomes irrelevant? And yet somehow this doesn't apply to the people that wrote the scriptures. So that means that if you were to ever teach or preach something that blessed a lot of people that we should burn it all when you're dead? Because according to your logic it would no longer apply.

But why pick on J. Vernon Magee? I remember listening to him thirty years ago when I was working a second shift job. While I didn't agree with him on everything (he was a cessationist and I'm not), his knowledge of the scriptures, and the humble and entertaining way he went through them all line by line, blessed me immensely. I just don't get your bile against the man. I truly don't.
