A scientist who has invented an instant laxative has been fired by his pharmaceutical employers.

That would end up in the health and fitness folder since it seems the instant laxative is playing such a role in it.

I paid only $3.46 a gallon for gas today at Sam's Club. I didn't have a lookout to watch as I filled the tank, but nobody tried to stop as I drove away. Maybe I got away with it!

I had a dream last night . . .
I was running errands around town and decided to stop and get some lunch, so I went into Ruby Tuesdays. Johnny Carson was there with another man (whom, in my dream, I knew; but have since forgotten).
Johnny invited me to have lunch with him and the other man. We had a delightful time.  (And for a dead man, he looked pretty good).
After lunch, we parted ways, and I got on my trike and then got stuck in the middle of an intersection because the light wouldn't change (here where I live, a person can cross one side of the street, and then there's little "islands" where they wait till they can cross the other side of the street - and very rarely, can someone cross both sides at the same time. It's very odd).
So, after finally being able to cross the street, I decided to go into a public women's restroom to clean out my purse.
Only, I suddenly discovered that I had a small purse, a big purse and two additional carrying bags; all full of stuff. (For those of y'all who know me, I'm a minimalist)
So I had to first organize the stuff before I could decide what to do with it next.
What I didn't realize was that there was a very long line of women waiting for me to come out of the stall, which was weird because their was about 20 other stalls available but no one wanted to use them.
I finally organized all my stuff and left the restroom.
The end.
I knew y'all would want to know.

Odd Thomas - one of the more endearing characters from the pen of Dean Koontz.
Didja know that Dean turned 63 on July 9? That picture on the back covers of his books must go back to the early 80s.

I'm only a few months older than Jonathan Frakes. He doesn't look like he did in the early 90s either.

I see he's gone fashionable and now has just a goatee instead of a full beard. Goatees seem to be more popular with younger generations. Most men over 50 are more likely to have a full beard than a goatee. But then, we're the old goats now...

I found this and think it fits.....
SYNONYMS miscellaneous, heterogeneous, mixed, varied, assorted. These adjectives mean consisting of a number of different kinds. Miscellaneous implies a varied, often haphazard combination: is selling postcards and miscellaneous novelties. Heterogeneous emphasizes diversity and dissimilarity: a heterogeneous urban population. Mixed suggests a combination of differing but not necessarily conflicting elements: a mixed program of baroque and contemporary music. Varied stresses absence of uniformity: “The assembly was large and varied, containing clergy and laity, men and women” (Nicholas P.S. Wisemen). Assorted often suggests the purposeful arrangement of different but complementary elements: a pretty arrangement of assorted flowers.
However I think the unidentified man in the dream was Dobie Gillis.

November' 63 . . . I was 9 days old on that fateful day . . . but I wasn't in Dallas; I was in SanFran wearing flowers in what little hair I'm sure I had.
I have come to the conclusion that miniature light studio lamps are not worth their money. The first set I purchased . . . one of the lamps fell over onto the counter (within minutes of first use) and blew it's bulb out. Upon researching replacement bulbs and finding them priced around $17, I decided not to use that set any longer.
The second set I purchased was bigger and looked to be sturdier. Time has proven this assumption correct; they are indeed quite sturdy, and I really have enjoyed using them (plus, this set affords a much less costly bulb).
However, within 5 minutes of first use of this set of miniature light studio lamps, the glass shield in one of the lamps spontaneously cracked into many pieces and ever a few larger shards. I had to use tweezers to pull some of the glass pieces out of the lamp, plus I had glass dust all over my kitchen counter and floor.
I've continued using the 2nd set of lamps; and so far, the glass shield remains intact in the other lamp. But still, there's been quite damper on my enthusiasm for this type of product.
Overstock sent me an email asking me for my opinion of the 2nd set of lamps (because they didn't sell me the first set). I very nicely gave my opinion of the lamps, said I would not recommend this product to anyone (because I was asked if I would) and then wrote pretty much what I wrote above.
They have chosen not to make my review available for public viewing.

A tire standing 4' off the ground would have a diameter of 4'. Circumference is the measurement of the distance around something, like the planet that the Enterprise must greatly exceed to avoid scarfing the planet's turf. Call it nap of the Planet Hollywood flying, for instance. Now that's circumference.
To be fair to your story, WRB, you need to include height of the truck body mostly above the tire height. Maybe the rims of that tire were 4' in diameter, but wasn't there a whole bunch of rubber tire, too, on either side of that rim? Or are they making those huge things in those funny narrow tires now too. Oh, wait a minute... you are talking about a Tennessee resident. Maybe it wasn't that high off the ground after all.
Come to think of it, I've never seen a monster truck pull in to a fund-raising car wash, or be washed by hand by anyone, in my life. Something like that is going to drip dirt and oil all over everything. Greening initiative and carbon footprints be sent away somewhere really HOT.
A famed comedian, whose name now escapes me, once asked his audience what happened to Preparations A thru G? I was not he. I'm still convinced they are working on Preparation I, because it hasn't hit the shelves yet, and because they don't know how to word the directions to warn people to not put I in your eye. There may just be a good stopping point with the Preps with H.
I like the non-gritty lax that leaves my water glass clear.

Actually, the name was a shortened rendition of Preparation Hematoma to assist in the speed of bruise removal. However, they failed to put the proper warnings on the label, and thus the, ummm, other application was born when a pregnant woman decided that she would "help" her husband. The fact that she did help him was completely unintentional but productive for the manufacturers.

If a tire is standing 4' off the ground, wouldn't it be floating in the air no matter what it's circumference?
But then again, polar bears swim, do they not?
