Psalms274 -> Another silly topic :-) (8/13/2008 9:44:16 PM)

I saw an article on MSN.com Here :p and had to ask ...

Apparently, we use our sniffer to find that just right body odor that is most opposite of our own ... which is our perfect match! [&:] Are you aware of any sniffing out that perfect mate? (I wonder if there are any scriptures that back this one up? [8D])

Oh, I'm sure we can find a scriptural basis... it has to be in the scriptures somewhere. [8D][;)]

Surely in the Song of Solomon?!

Ah yes in Song of Solomon 7 ... "and the smell of thy nose like apples" ... but what exactly does that mean? Do you suppose the smeller's nose was like oranges? ... to be a good match that is.

The NKJV says "The fragrance of your breath like apples"

John_O -> RE: Another silly topic :-) (8/13/2008 10:27:33 PM)

Off topic but really cool I think. A pastor friend of mine tells me that the Hebrew 'sense' of the word ABBA is " I long for your smell". (I've never verified this however).

I have noticed that woman I am really really attracted to just naturally smell nice to me (no perfume just them)

Hmmmm .... breath that smells like apples could be ketone acidosis ... a possible diabetic. [;)] ... that would make for a not so good the gene pool. [&o]

That's on topic ... you are sniffing them out .... just need to find the right scripture to back up all this research.

Are you talking about the one friend in previous thread?

That would explain why perfume have been used only by women for so long, and why with the modern advent of men cologne usage people are remaining single much longer. Looks like there just is no romantic future for two good-smelling people. [:o]

BlessedAngel1983 -> RE: Another silly topic :-) (8/24/2008 9:10:11 PM)

I know that when a guys smells nice i'm more apt to notice him.

Grant it too much cologne is a turn off.

Psalms274 -> RE: Another silly topic :-) (8/24/2008 9:16:42 PM)

Y'all want to know something funny ... the studies they refer to in the article are the ones that ARE NOT washed off in the shower or covered up with cologne ... it's the au natural ...

well ... maybe a shower with fragranceless (is that a word? hmmm ... it is now!) soap to get the nasty smelly bacteria off .... and down to the real you smell.

I wonder if people with really bad allergies ... and therefore unable to use their sniffer to its fullest potential ... end up mismatched?[8D]

BlessedAngel1983 -> RE: Another silly topic :-) (8/24/2008 9:25:56 PM)

Well a guy that smells au natural is good too!

Nope, I'm right there with you.

Fresh from the shower= [:D]

Fresh from the gym= [:'(]

I am not a big perfume /cologne person. I liked the scent my husband wore, (and he used very little) but it took us years to find one that we both liked and one that I was not allergic to.
I brought home colognes that I liked several times only to find that they did not smell good on him. Your own body chemistry works with the cologne to make it different on each individual. Who knew?
