drussell52 -> messianic resources and teachers? (8/13/2008 5:38:37 PM)

Hi, this seemed to be the most appropriate forum to post the following in. First, if anyone knows of a resource available to lay persons, where a "messianic-slanted" seminarian or Bible institute student is required to do ex number of hours of teaching toward their degree, would you share such resource with myself or others here?
Formerly I was involved with a phone study for 6 months with a Christian Rabbi who tought PT at Fuller Seminary, and he passed away from heart complications, and have never found a similar resource. To flip this over, there are some on line Bible studies and such at www.tnnonline.net that are great for the newbie, or someone who wants to dig deeper in to this aspect of faith. Also about-torah.org, currently offers a once a week discussion on the given reading for that week, registration fee and acquiring Skype software is necessary. Finally, for personal, the ancient-hebrew.org site is a user friendly place to go too.
Guess what I'm looking for is a sort of ask the Christian Rabbi resource because the "conventional church" has a different slant on some things that are viewed from the Hebraic mind set. A PM, or reply with named resource will be fine, so to avoid any undo conflict here..
Thanks and shalom!
Drussell

Here are some links I have pasted to my screen.
You'll have to sort through them to see if they are acceptable or not.

tnnonline.net
saltshakers.com
revivalschool.com
inthebeginning.com
torahclass.com
eliyah.com
followtherabbi.com
bibleplaces.com
Jerusalemperspective.com
hebrew4christians.com
myJewishlearning.com

eliyah is a Sacred Name Only site

"benelchi" here on the boards helps me with
some of my Hebrew questions.

Lapidoth, shalom and thanks for the links. I like the NT commentary at salt shakers and have enjoyed getting the Voice of The Lord Devo from study light.org.

Hello Drussell,

Have you heard of organizations such as the Apple of His Eye (LCMS) and Jews for Jesus? They are both evangelistic organizations dedicated to bringing the good news to the Jewish people.

"Jews for Jesus" is really not a messianic organization. Their theology is more mainstream evangelical.

There is the Messianic Jewish Theological Institute http://www.mjti.org/ which is run by the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (umjc.org). Carl Kinbar, provost and V.P. is a friend of mine and was my wife's boss for several years before he took this position. He is an excelent teacher and well grounded.

I have sat under the teaching of pretty much everyone on their board except Mark Kinzer, and have much respect for all I have heard.
