Hi,was wondering if anyone can provide some insight as to why when Cain and Able presented thier gifts to the God...that Able's was looked on favorably while Cain's was not...this as we know made Cain angry and led him to kill his brother...

But am just curious what was it about Cain's offering that God favored Able's more?

thanks so much[:)]

Roni

Im not really sure but my hunch is that Abel's offering was more of a sacrifce ,, a blood offering rather than an offering of vegetation.

imo

hebrews 11 says this about abel's offering

4 By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the testimony that he was righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks.

abel offered his gift by faith, from this passage cain's offering was not by faith, so his offering was by duty

the writer of hebrews tells us this about faith

1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the men of old gained approval

so we see that it was by faith that the men of old gained approval, cain's gift lacked faith and so lacked approval

the writer goes on to say

6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

without faith it would be impossible for cain's offering to please God
