ORIGINAL: teaspoon61 The USA men's swim team won the 400 meter medly relay. A team event. Yet when NBC broadcast the ceremony, they focus soley on Michael Phelps. Even though it was his 8th medal ~ WOW ~ it did come during a team event. NBC should have shown the whole team. When I saw it live, they did show the whole team. In fact, they interviewed the other three guys first. During the medal ceremony, I saw the whole team and IIRC, most of the other two teams as well. -Dan.

Its nice that nbc decided not to show any of the women's triathlon. I watched on the canadian channel instead. It was kind of nice without Bob Costas, they kind of just showed the sports with out a lot of the filler. And the canadians updated the status on each member of the team, not just the stars. I thought that was kind of nice.

I am not really watching it. Its hard to comprehend a country who has different religions prisoned blocking freedom of the press and censorship of the internet buying oil from Sudan which is fueling them with money to buy arms to oppress people in the Darfar and is causing the some of the worst pollution in that area I know the people in china does not represent the government I cannot really watch something like that thinking there are brothers and sisters in christ in some prison camp

Anybody catch the trampolines tonight. Thank goodness they have fixed cameras up-high. For the first few seconds of every girl's routine, they'd cut to the floor camera that was constantly panning up and down following her bounce in the air. I have a fairly strong stomach, but that was making me sick within seconds. -Dan.

They may have interviewed them afterward BUT when the national anthem was playing, the camera was focus soley on Phelps. The Peking Olympic Committee, and CCTV (the Chinese national state-run television network) control all pictures for the Olympics such as the medal ceremonies. The IOC has guidelines in effect, but NBC doesn't have control over ceremony pics. Event cameras are controlled by the organisers. That's the way it usually works with an Olympic Games.
