KinKin -> Books to read in a courtship? (8/7/2008 1:49:20 PM)

Hi All,

I did a search already but didn't find anything.

I would like to know if there is any good books to read for people who is in a (long distance) courtship?

I was suggested to this e-book called "1000 Questions for Couples". I don't know is it worth getting or not?

Please let me know if you have any good recommendation for me.

Thanks much,

Blessing,

KinKin

We had to read a couple. The one that I remember that sticks out the most because I refer back to it is The Five Love Languages. It's about every person likes love expressed to them in a different way. I bring up MY love language to my hubby on certain days when things aren't going the best :)

Is that the one written by Dr. Gary and Barb Rosberg?

Thanks very much,

(I'm still single so take my review for what it's worth. [:)] )

Passion and Purity by Elizabeth Elliot.

She and Jim saw each other maybe 3 or 4 times a year and courted long distance for five years!!!

Her courtship model isn't for everyone, but she has a lot of good advice on knowing limitations in relationships, acceptance that betrothees aren't perfect, forgiveness and learning to accept criticism so that growth in Christ-like-ness can continue even while the relationship is seemingly put on hold.

It speaks more to women, but I've heard a lot of guys enjoy it as well.

1000 Questions for Couples is an excellent book to get.

Some other books to consider (you can find these at CBD.com):
