ORIGINAL: rgsoundguy Rush is by far my favorite band! Right on! I thinks it's cool the way you can hear Zeppelin's influence on Rush's early recordings like this one. Garden Road - Rush http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_2cgHHK3fc So that was from the Caress of Steel tour? Why would they not put that song on the album? It absolutely rocked! A couple years ago a band called Wolfmother put out a song called Woman. Almost identical. I'm not sure I hear the Zeppelin influence in that. The album from them that sounds mostly inspired by Zeppelin in the original self titled album. I really think that Neil Peart both with his musicianship, and his lyrics really made them into something unique.

Wolf Mother put on a great live show.

I think we should petition Lee, Lifeson, and Peart to do a studio recording of that song for their next album.

Here's a great one from Manfred Mann: For You Great Thin Lizzy songs, Shema. One of my favorites is Whiskey In the Jar. I really like the Metallica version, too.

Next you'll tell me you don't remember Vandenberg? Back On My Feet Again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSdWzB_6DS4 Nope. Those must have been from my dark ages of the early 80s. I love the Les Paul tone on that song, though.

Brethren… ….I got an invite to play with a messianic ensemble tomorrow… Send out some prayers…!! I'm not quite sure what that sounds like, but I know it will be a lot of fun! Here's an awesome instrumental from the Butterfield Blues Band --East-West. The first guitar part is Elvin Bishop; the second is Mike Bloomfield. Unbelievable! I bought the LP on a whim from a used record store many years ago, and it remains one of my favorite impulse buys. This Youtube version is not the complete song. Here's another guitar song: The Outlaws -- High Tides and Green Grass.
