Native or transplant? Because not liking the Beach Boys is a hanging offense in LA!

Native, and in my neck of the woods, being from L.A. is a hanging offence.

ROTFLOL!!!! As Inspector Closeau says, "Good One!" I Like your sense of humor!!

Say what you will though but LA is home to one of the best club scenes in the country. BTW, The Doors and Van Halen are LA bands! In fact, Van Halen played at my high school before they made it big in 1976! Their picture even made it into the yearbook. They even used pyrotechnics at that time!

I could start a thread on all the great bands that came from LA. Metallica and Megadeth come to mind as well! In the music scene, LA has a LOT to be proud of.

Yeah, especially if you include Bay Area bands like Matallica.

And just think how easy it would be to get to beautiful San Diego if L.A. wasn't in the way.

Speaking of L.A. and Bay Area bands, here's Journey's City of the Angels.

Hey, it's always easy to get to the big SD from LA!

Journey is one of the best bands to come out of the Bay area. Too bad about Steve Perry's voice though.

Here's a young Greg Rollie singing with Santana, Neal Schon is on guitar too.

I've never heard that song. He kind of sounds like Huey Lewis but better. :)

Now I'll think of Huey Lewis every time I hear that song.
The still play that every so often here.

Sorry! It's better than the song-that-shall-not-be-mentioned, though (sorry for mentioning it recently ).

I heard Green Light Girl on the radio just today. Couldn't believe it!

Sorry Daddy-O! That song's out of the OP's time range...

That's all right, I just bleach my brain with some Who music.

That one's pretty good. I haven't heard it before. Sounds a bit like a black spiritual.
