Hey Dad...

Ahhhh….Back to normal....

When you brought up Blackfoot… I remembered that name… And when I looked and saw they did this one also... Wishing well ….but I don’t know who did the original song first? ,

We did these songs.. we did Wishing Well and dabbled with the other, but I can’t remember if we did it all the way..

I love that song. I got to share it with my 12 year old son for the first time last week. Pretty cool.

A true classic...I used to play it

I love Molly Hatchett, too!

I skipped my high school graduation to see John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. It was kind of a reunion with Mick Taylor and John McVie. Clapton was in town and there was a rumor he would show up, but, alas, no. Incredible concert, nevertheless.

I've heard the new AC/DC song. It seems to have a couple new chords.

Sounds like you'll have a great time!

I have a story about the Kinks song Destroyer. A friend and I went to a Kinks concert around the time that song came out. We happen to have snagged two front row center tickets. We really wanted them to play that song, so we were yelling out "PARANOIA! PARANOIA!" thinking that was the title of the song. I think Dave Davies heard us because he had a confused look on his face. They never did play Destroyer that night, and it was later when we discovered the real title of the song.

Awesome Stones and Golden Earring songs. Love 'em both! I don't have time to youtube this afternoon, but I thought of a couple I'll search for later.

Love that song! On the classic rock station here they always pair that song with Heartbreaker, which has one of the coolest guitar solos ever.

How could I have forgotten one of my all-time favorites? This was the best era of U2, IMO.

I have the CD with that song on it. Evolution, I think. Great song.

Shooting Star -- You've Got What I Need. This is a cool song. I like Hollywood the best, but I couldn't find an original video for it. There are some recent live versions, but the singer straining his voice on the high notes isn't pretty.

Here's a rocking song by Peter Cetera, of all people. Limelight. The homemade video is kinda dumb.

Great "Paranoia" story.

If I remember correctly, Jimmy Page recorded the solo to Heartbreaker separately from the rest of the song. If you listen closely, you can hear how the tone of the solo sounds different.

Led Zep -- Celebration Day

I never knew that! Now that I hear it again, it does sound like it's just inserted into the song.

Celebration Day is cool. I gotta get Zep II and III. I already have I, IV and Houses of the Holy.

You can't have a party without Foghat (or Hogfat as we used to call them) -- Slow Ride (longer, more awesome version)

Here is something I never knew was filmed, and now I want the DVD!
Cheap Trick -- I Want You To Want Me

I spend many a day in a friend's basement cranking that album! It may have been this song when we performed a fake Who concert and destroyed a couple of guitars in our exuberance. I'll have to ask.

Here's another forgotten Journey track, one of my favorites.
La Do Da - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcE--caFfOg&feature=related

We've wanted to do this a church for a while with Christian lyrics:

Somth'n about you Savior
really knocked my off my feet
Somth'n about you Jesus
brings a poor boy to his knees

I will praise your name
I will praise your holy name

Oh, somth'n about you Father
really touched me deep inside
I feel it, oh I feel it
when your Spirit's deep inside

I will praise your name
I will praise your holy name

You are God
You are God
You are God
You are Gaaaahhhhdd!!!!

Post a favorite rock video from the greatest period in music history, 1968-1990.

Here's a start with Sugarloaf, Don't Call Us, We'll Call You

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4njPe2_rho

Hmmm...my recipe preferences starts by the elements of nature, road without end and the most beautiful machine sounds that rocks:...Iron horse.if it was classical music I would ride a regular horses thou..

Now the rock music of my choices by settled memories inprinted very early that is about freedom comes from the movie Easy Riders scene as Born to be Wild playing and the guy biker riding standing on it with open arms etc that is what USA rock is all about to me: outdoors, road, freedom and a Harley...

Highway Song, Freebird, Sweet Child of mine...and many many others goes well while cruising outdoors also. To me rock calls lots of energy is not passive exchanges at all as to listen to it between 4 walls or inside cars etc...ewww.. Impossible!

Thanks!

There are some great songs on the Easy Rider soundtrack, Adriana. I have it on LP somewhere. Sweet Child of Mine is sweet! Axl Rose's voice really bugs, but the music more than makes up for it.

I don't remember if I posted this before, but it's great. I Wish it Would Rain Down -- Phil Collins

Here's another one that really rocks: Cult of Personality -- Living Colour
It's a timely theme.

Here's the original version of Without You by Badfinger. Not the great cover by Nillson, nor the screechy version by Mariah Carey.
