Right now it's a category 2, but the hurricane center's current projection puts it at a cat 4 by landfall. I think we'll be heading south. It's such a hard decision though, because if it turns south, yikes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYANNE!!!!

Yo- When is Chases birthday? It should be the next day or so, looking forward to seeing pics.

Nath is having a party down here with my fanily and then I might have a smaller one back home the weekend after his birthday. I can't believe my baby is nearly one!

Oh, I miss home, nothing like it!

Crystal praying for you and that horrible hurricane.
Nicole I hope you are feeling better about things too, I don't like it when you and Lorne are sad.

Hi to everyone else!!

Yikes is right! Soooo, when will you know for sure which way you will go?

I've been watching it move and get stronger. Our news crew said it would be a 3 by landfall, but I bet that when I watch the news tonight that will have changed to a 4.

Hi Nicole! Yay for Nath turning one soon! When is his birthday? It'll be fun with your whole family together for his birthday like that!

Oh my. I was just watching the news and heard a very scary story that happened a couple blocks away from us. We've walked past the home before...A couple and their baby were at home and around noon men broke in, tied them up and held them at gun point while they raided their home. Someone (police don't know who yet) called the police and the men fled right before the police got there. The poor family is shooken up.

We used to think this neighbourhood was ok, but now it doesn't feel very safe anymore. Since we've lived here there has been a murder, 2 gang cars shooting at eachother through their sun roofs and more shootings. I cannot wait to get out of here... Living in a large city just isn't fun anymore.

Dana has my phone number, and our hotel should have wireless internet. I don't leave home without my laptop.

I'm *so* getting a laptop next time...

Anybody see Mariah Carey on Idol tonight? Yeesh. Rhinestone microphone, Rhinestone mic stand, her dress looked like a rug. Or one of those silk scarves. It didn't work for me.
Oh, and the shoes were so tall she couldn't even move. Every time I looked she was only moving from the ankles up!

/rant

Heading to the doctor tomorrow, hopefully he doesn't have bad news, it was a callback about blood work, but he's really cautious, so it might not be anything, but it could be something too. I'm trying not to worry.
It's Chase's 12 month check up too.

Nicole(AU) the birthday party is this weekend, his birthday is next week. (WOW!) I'm making a Blue's Clues cake, and doing some dog themed stuff for the party. I'm excited!

(((((((((((Yolanda)))))))))) I hope everything is fine.

Okay, so things just got way worse for Lorne at work. I can't explain anything because it is all legal stuff so no one outside of this can know. But it just made things worse and added unneeded stress to the whole thing.

Anyways, I am going to get a hold of a church here to see about getting counselling for both of us to see us through this. We need someone who cares, is a good Christian and someone willing to pray with and for us.

Lorne doesn't think he can do this type of work anymore so we need to pray about making a change too. Anything can pretty much happen and we have no clue how this will turn out in the end.

Overwhelming? Stressful? Upsetting? Difficult? Confusing? Yes.

Neither of us want to deal with it and it is too hard for us to deal with it alone and that is why we need someone to help us out. I am so not looking forward to calling that church and trying to figure things out. I really hope God sends the right person to us. Someone who genuinely cares.

Yolanda,

Your thyroid's been on my mind since you told me about hypothyroidism being in the family, and also how you feel down sometimes.

Did you have a TFT done this time as part of the blood work?

I hope everything goes well, too, Yolanda.

My dH had another doc appointment today. The only problem they found was blood in his urine, otherwise he's fine. He's seeing a urologist tomorrow, though.

Nathan is still sick, but much more comfortable now, at least. He'll be missing the toddler gym class tomorrow, but he's having some special time with Nana. We're also having the ultrasound on the new baby tomorrow morning.

ETA: Happy Birthday, Ryanne!

Nicole - what is the price of gas there now?

Happy Birthday Ryanne!!!

Yolanda - I hope everything goes well with the doctor...I'm taping Idol in about a half an hour, but I'm pretty sure I'll fast forward through Mariah Carey!

We just bought a new computer tonight! I'm so excited, it's still at the store because they need to format it and stuff, so we get it tomorrow and I know Dh and I will be fighting for it!

I have a newbie question. I've never been part of a chat forum but i do know they don't go past 100 pages. So what happens when this page is full? I don't want to loose this thread cuz i really like it! the answer is probably a no brainer but thanks for dealing with the newbie.

like i said probably was a no-brainer! LOL Thanks for answering.

I've got a question for you all - have you ever had someone either blantantly tell you or hint that you shouldn't be a stay at home mom and that you should be helping to support your family finacially?

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Ladies.

Ruth, are you having your 20 week u/s tomorrow? I can't wait to know the gender! I'm excited for you! I'll be praying for Greg, hopefully it's not anything major.

Draydensmom, We haven't ever really had anyone hint that I should be helping financially because DH has always picked up the slack and worked 2 jobs if needed. I went back to work this week though, so we are equally carrying the burden to support the family.

Gotta do what ya gotta do.

Lexie, how is your computer being formatted? We have bought several new computers and always brought them home the same night. I don't think I could handle waiting

Yo, I'll pray everything goes well tomorrow! I hate phone calls like that and then waiting. Ick.

NicoleCAN, hopefully you will find a good counselor. We have been seeing one of the pastors from church about various issues(nothing earth shattering) and he has been more then helpful. If it's a large church then they probably even have a "real" counselor on staff. I know our church has a family psychologist and a child psychologist in addition to the pastoral staff.

Lexie you need your own Geek Squad!

(((Yolanda)))

(((Nicole)))

It looks like the storm just might go north enough to not give us anything bad. Good for us but bad for them. Yikes. It's also been downgraded to a 3 at landfall again, so that's better too. A 3 is still devastating, but a 4... yowsa. We canceled one hotel room and if we leave tomorrow (not so sure we'll have to now, we should know tomorrow afternoon) we'll head south. Bummer. I was kinda looking forward to San Antonio, but that's surely not where we want to be for the current storm track.

Yay, Ruth! I'm excited to hear too! And, I hope everything is ok with Greg.

Crystal, well that's at least good you might not have to leave. Hope everything stays predictable enough for you to have enough time to plan.

My friend actually hinted that at me, but it's only because we get welfare. I think that's understandable. I don't want to make a lifestyle out of getting food stamps. We've been on them for a while now, and now that Jimmy doesn't nurse so much (and we aquired another debt) I'm looking for work. I don't think it's fair to ask my hubby to look for a second job if I'm perfectly capable, and if we don't have to pay a babysitter. I, however have no problem with my kids being on government healthcare long term because I DO feel entitled to it. I don't feel entitled to food stamps for long term though. I know which thread you're thinking of, DradysMom, and me and you are in the same boat.
