I also recommend A Walk to Remember. Beautiful love story, one of the only movies where I actually believe the characters are truly falling in love.

I also watched Stardust again yesterday and was reminded of what a fun, beautiful story it is.

Definately "Lars and The Real Girl"

There is barely ANY sexual references. No sex. Hardly any (if any at all) swearing and no violence. Just a lovely, sweet and heartbreaking movie. Plus Ryan Gosling is in it- if you like him in the NB then you'll you'll love him in this. He is just beyond amazing.

Ditto to the member who recommended SHADOWLANDS. There are two different versions, both excellent about CS Lewis' life. For non-Oscar films, I highly recommend CROSS CREEK, THE SPITFIRE GRILL, TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL. For Oscars, DRIVING MISS DAISY.

A Walk to Remember

I think both movies, The Notebook and A Walk to Remember, were both Nicholas Sparks adaptations. And A Walk to Remember was "cleaner" than The Notebook, with just a swear word or two, but no sex scenes.

Both movies have good messages.
