sunshinesoprano -> AVG 8.0 Free and Email Addresses (7/24/2008 11:08:07 AM)

Hey, folks. Ever since getting my new puter and having AVG 8.0, I get these emails back from my own computer when I try to send from a specific email address that the address has not been authenticated and the email cannot be sent.

All of the addresses are setup the same way, same incoming/outgoing server, just different addresses.

Any ideas?

I've been having similar problems after reformatting my computer and putting AVG 8 back on it. I didn't even consider it was an issue with my anti-virus. For now, I've been using Charter's online email service. I still have not decided if I want to go back to Outlook. It's frustrating, so any help will be appreciated.

Hmm...it's wierd. I'm using Incredimail and it just baffles me, because I have like 9 email addresses, and only one is stubborn.

Oh well. Thanks!

a few questions. what email is giving fits, hotmail, yahoo, or one that you use from say work? just like after the @ symbol. what does the email say exactly and are there any error codes etc? have you checked the knowledge base on the avg website? I use Avast and don't have any problems with emails.

sunshinesoprano -> RE: AVG 8.0 Free and Email Addresses (7/25/2008 7:10:57 AM)

they're all addresses from pureheartmusic.org. They're all at home and the response email after I send it says that the domain hasn't been verified. The one causing the problems is info@ and junk@ and they're both configured the same way as the others.

I haven't checked the knowledge base, no.

I had not heard of incredimail before.

How is it (aside from the one errant account)? I have been using Thunderbird at home but recently has been giving me fits with an imap 3 account that keeps giving an error message "account not imap 4."

Maybe I need to change.

This is the error message I get:

This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:
Your message was not delivered because the return address was refused.

The funny thing is that this does not come up on every email I send, and it seems that my mail has still gone through. It only happens when I use it at home and didn't consider it being an issue with AVG until this thread was started. I am currently using the charter.net online email. I also use hotmail for something else and am not having any issues.

Incredimail is good if you want to use stationeries and stuff. I used to use T-bird before I got it.

It's really wierd that all my addys are config'd the same, but these 2 don't want to send. Strange.

And my email is alwways returned as undeliverable because the domain hasn't been verified. Don't know how to fix it.

CoachSteve -> RE: AVG 8.0 Free and Email Addresses (7/25/2008 3:49:27 PM)

do you run your own email server or is there an admin? it sounds like something with the config of the info and junk email addresses. like something in the server is not set to forward the emails or thre is a blockage of email coming from those 2 addresses in the email server itself. I would contact the admin of pureheartmusic.org and see if they can look at the email server for any setting that is not allowing the info and junk mail to be sent/relayed through the server.

sunshinesoprano -> RE: AVG 8.0 Free and Email Addresses (7/28/2008 8:22:32 AM)

CoachSteve,
I am the admin and they're all configured exactly the same way. My primary email, heather@, works perfectly fine, as does another account on a different server, and all are setup the same way. It's really baffling me.

CoachSteve -> RE: AVG 8.0 Free and Email Addresses (7/31/2008 4:04:33 PM)

could it have something to do wiht the info@ or the junk@ emails not being forwarded, or allowed to forward? what email server are you using? hmail, or another free server? it seems a very confusing issue to me as well.

sunshinesoprano -> RE: AVG 8.0 Free and Email Addresses (8/1/2008 8:20:28 AM)

I think I may have figured it out. pureheartmusic.org is run off a server through hostek. I think what was happening is that I hadn't marked the outbound to authenticate. Hopefully that fixed it.

Thanks!
