My boys' initials are BAM and NAM. Brandon NEVER writes his initials without the middle one!

We had two little girls in our church, twins, who were named Trinity and Divinity. At first I thought "Oh those are pretty" but I"m not sure I like the idea of naming people after God. It's not quite doing that but a little close for my comfort.

Personally I wouldn't want to be named Divinity. I think it's too much to live up to, or else you are supposed to be super-sweet all the time. If I WERE Divinity, though, I would definitely be the kind with nuts. A lot of people are named Jesus. ETA: come to think of it, Trinidad, which is Trinity in Spanish, is very common, as well. I have a friend with that name, but we call her Trini. Her husband's name is Bladimir. (Vladimire) And there's a country or city named Trinidad, as well, but then, there's a country named El Salvador, which is The Savior.

I am not sure that we do. However, could it be like our "ditz" or "ditzy" which basically means a real airhead. agapetos, Hmmmmm, I'm not sure that Americans have our slang word "divv" or "divvy". It might be just a Brit thing. I am not sure that we do. However, could it be like our "ditz" or "ditzy" which basically means a real airhead.

I know two Chastity's - and neither one of them lived up to the name, I'm sorry to say. Blessings, Garsy

My dd's are Jerica and Makenna. Jerica is not because of Jericho, I just liked it cause it was different. Makenna came about because I wanted to have the "k" and "a" sound like in Jerica. I have only heard of one other Jerica and Makenna as a last name usually. I like to be different!!!

ORIGINAL: Sideways My husband was at a church youth retreat when he met a girl named Destiny. Boy did he get a lot of mileage out of that! Apparently he had some really corny teenage lines. He knew a another girl named Gillette, which here in the US is a brand of razor with the tag line "The Best a Man Can Get". I have to believe that company wasn't around when the daughter was named, 'cause that's just cruel. I have heard the name Destiny a lot. One girl I know uses the nickname "Des". I remember reading that Miley Cyrus' original name was Destiny, and she changed it to Milely b/c when she was little, they called her Smiley, and she pronounced it Miley, so it stuck, and when she got older, she had it legally changed, also added Ray as her middle name, in honor of her dad, Billy Ray Ther Gillette company has been around since b4 I was born, and I'm 54. I don't think the tag line has been around that long, however. It is also a last name, and we have a children's hosp here named Gillette, but it has nothing to do with the razor company, it is named after someone. I don't know the story behind how it got its name, but I know it has nothing to do with the razor company. I would think the girl named Gillette was probably named after a branch of her family with that as a last name, or maybe they just lked how it sounded, but I'm sure the parents were not thinking of the tag line, "The best a man can get".

I know a whole family that recently changed their last name. The youngest also changed the spelling of her middle name, since it would be no extra trouble, lol.
