The water can't be clean, changed between customers. It would stress the fish.

Cleaners would kill the fish.

I read something about it the other day. I Just am too old fashioned give me a regular pedicure any day. Besides I imagine it's probably pretty pricey. As to where did they come up with the idea where do they get anything they do? Someone with too much time on his hands & nothing to do.

I saw it on the news last night, and the story did say they changed the water between customers. I think it sounds cool--I'd do it if it didn't cost too much. I have a lot of problems with my skin peeling on my heels, so I think it'd be just the thing. I wonder if I could buy some fish and do it at home?

I would have a panic attack. I'm a pretty stable person normally, but the idea of underwater critters touching my body gives me heart palpitations.

I'm a swimming pool girl too! Beaches and lakes are for sports, not swimming

I completely agree!!!!!

Not that I'd do it, but I wonder what kind of fish they'd use.

Out of sick curiosity, I googled 'fishicure' and all I got were links back here.

How is this spelled? I would like to email a few of my friends an article about it for fun.

Yahoo has stories/picture slideshows of it. That's where I read the article this week. They use baby carp.

and the story did say they changed the water between customers.

They probably have to take water from a specific tank that has been treated and has the same chemical levels. It would be neat to see how that worked with fish being so sensitive to change.

I used to have goldfish that would "kiss" my fingers. I wish I'd thought to put my feet in the tank... on second thought, I cleaned that tank and would NOT want my feet in that rank water!!

I'll just stick with my pumice and lotion routine with the occasional pedi.

I wonder where you can buy baby carp?

My husband and I were talking about this last night. We were joking that we should start our own salon, and buy a bunch of piranhas and offer fishie liposuction.

One time I when I was fishing with my dad we were bass fishing and we came across a bunch of carp and they were huge.. and just stood there...we could have scooped them all up. There was tons of them there because peoples houses were right there.

At a bait shop I bet. Minnows that are sold for bait are just baby fish. You can also buy "pond stocking" fish at various locations. Our farmers co-op has "fish day" where the truck comes with various varieties of baby fish to sell for people to stock their fishing ponds. They would be quiet easy to obtain. Or you could set minnow traps in the creek and catch your own...

Okay, I should stop now, I am revealing just how much of a hillbilly I am!

There's a lot of bait shops around here. I should go check them out. There's even a place that has a bait vending machine.

No, I would not get a fishicure! I've had plenty of fish nip at me in various places while swimming in any number of our 10,000 lakes up here for free.

It's not a great sensation.

Dead skin on your feet? That's what pumice stones are for.

I was just thinking the same thing. If I could have a bowl sitting beneath my computer so I could have my daily fishicure while plugging away at homework, it would be heavenly! When I was a kid, I remember enjoying putting my fingers in the fish bowl and having them nibble at my fingers.
