C_Meshuga has a good grasp on the subject. It is very well worth study and understanding. But you will be in for some shaking moments as you learn what the Bible really says and means. But, it's all worth it. LOL.

ORIGINAL: DaveW Are they REQUIRED? No. But there is a big difference between not being required and being irrellevant. Paul told Timothy that ALL scripture was inspiried and useful for teaching. That includes Lev 23. In Acts 15 James says that Moses is read in all cities on every sabbath. The inference is that it is good for gentiles to go learn all about the Mosaic covenant. Jesus and Paul refered to the Law constantly. Had the OT been "not relevant" there would have been no reason to do so, and every reason NOT to refer to it. Another good point on the not required side of the coin.

I did a search in the Bible re: the word 'Feast' and there were 90 in the whole Bible and surprisingly few references to such in the NT - only about 3 or 4 after the book of John and only one reference to the word 'feasts' in the NT and that is found in Jude. Still studying......

ORIGINAL: sisrev Do a search for the word "passover"and see how many times it comes up--both during the life of Christ and later--see how many times it was observed--even in the early church. Once you study the OT feasts, you will references to them throughout the NT, it just may not use the word "feast". Yes, the Church did have a hard time getting the jews past their pesky old coveneant traditions to serve God with their hearts and not the OT rules and regulations. Thanks RC
