I shall be pleased to engage in any critical, rational debate concerning issues of textual evaluation of source documents, and historicity within Early Christianity, including its emergence within contemporary Judaism, and subsequent development as a new religious cult within Hellenistic/Roman society from the 1st- 4th centuries.

Do you wish me to start a new thread on John's Gospel as a projected historical source for the life of Jesus of Nazareth, or make comparisons with the synoptics and enlarge the discussion into the more detailed area of Palestinian Judaism in the 1st century?

It's up to you, really. Though given the unique nature of John, I feel it would be very difficult to properly discuss it without a comparison to the synoptic gospels. Maybe we could even bring the mysterious ol' Q into the discussion. : D
