LawrenceJCaldwell -> Anyone reading the opposition? (7/20/2008 7:11:59 PM)

Has anyone read and have comments on books such as Letter to a Christian Nation or The God Delusion?

Do these authors have any basis whatsoever for their positions?

I do, but only in select fields. The field where I'm most prone to do it is higher and lower Bible Criticism. I do read both sides there.

I tend to read more essays or articles than whole books. I've read some Dawkins but not that one.

I haven't read The God Delusion, but my husband works from that text quite a bit (he's a writer and enjoys apologetics).... He gets frustrated with Dawkins sometimes...

You should check out the debate that Time magazine had (in an article), between Dawkins and Frances Collins entitled "God vs. Science".... I have a copy of the text if anyone is interested.... It was a really good article...

Collins is a scientist who says that he came to Christ as a result of his studies.
