Good morning, friends in the faith!

I have a story of yore. Long, long ago (did i say it was long ago?) I sat a red light on a hot summer day. My lime green Chevy Malibu was still faithfully in service and I was on my way to my job.

An...apple...came through my window and hit me in the head.

A chewed-on apple. My window was down and an enticing target I made for two young fellows in a pickup truck. I saw them snickering back behind me in the other lane, the one closest to me sliding down in the seat.

People DO NOT hit me in the head with a chewed-on apple!

When the light turned to green they wisely hit the gas. I pursued. Sidebar: You know, I object when people think of the South as the Dukes of Hazzard. I may be mistaken in that objection.

Back to the action: They cut across my lane to take the angling side road. My Malibu had a V8. I charged after them and was determined to put that apple on somebody's head.

However they made a sharp turn down a small alleyway and I just wasn't going in there. Besides I had to get to work.

My revenge unfulfilled, all I could do was gripe.

And throw away the apple.

Moral of the story: What?! You thought I was teaching morality?!!

Have a nice day.

I have seen that I am not the only one to note: a slow day online.

The world keeps turning and I am in a way amazed that any of us find time to post here. But we do, and it's my wish that the bottom-line result will be encouragement for us all.

Right now I am downtown and there is a parade of walkers with balloons. That's all I know about it.

I guess they found time for something that mattered to them. Good for them.

:)

Hullo Wintery. Right now I'm waiting for GC to get home. I had a house full of boys today and they're finally gone (except for the one who lives here). It's much quieter here now.

I hope that turns out well for you. Maybe you can find a few tasks for the visitors to help with. Got a posthole digger?

ETA: what i meant was if you didn't scare them off, they'll be back and you can make them earn the food they were scarfing. Fair is fair, right?

That's a very good idea. I do have some landscaping I want done and I know the yard will need mowed again before it snows. And, after that, I'll need shoveling done.

Of course, I don't wanna work 'em too hard or they won't come back and my kid will be doing chores at some other mom's house.

Wintery, good morning.

What were you using to post with yesterday during the parade?

I have a laptop; and that's about as new fangled as I get.

Nice to hear from you.

There is a place seldom visited where a high waterfall pours down onto the Tennessee River.

The path takes its rare travelers across the midway of the river bluff where a hollow place allows passage directly behind the pouring waterfall.

Long ago a young couple walked there. She picked up a rock to cut against the limestone bluff, a record remaining to mark their sojourn.

Cold and callous as the bite of winter, he eventually broke that relationship, as if he had a wealth of relationships.

Do not ask questions for they will not be answered.

I am merely reflecting that long ago, in a place hardly known, in a natural sanctuary behind a waterfall, someone once inscribed her name, and mine.

Who is this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? - Song of Solomon 8:5

Thanks Lion and Whiteroseblessings.

Just keep in mind that I hold several licenses.

One of them is a "poetic license".

Bored? Here's a website to look at. It's about an Alabama Music Hall of Fame fundraiser concert for a friend...

Be sure to read what to expect.

Oh yeah...a prayer would be nice.

Thanks for the links.

I've checked out the website; and will put Joey down on my calendar for the 14th so I can remember y'all in prayer.

I hope it's a great turn-out.

May Our Lord bless him abundantly.

I really wish I had something positive to contribute here today, but I just haven't had that kind of day.

I will note that I have reflected several times that it seems futile to post in some threads.

I have thought about many unnecessary and unkind things that from time to time pop up in a thread here or there.

As someone once told me, "You can't make people act right". This is true.
