I just looked them up. They aren't very funny.. I hate singing comedians (with the exception of Tim Minchin)

I've never noticed much anti-christian sentiment from the writers of The Office. I'm not sure I even knew Angela was a Christian. :P

Do you have any examples from that show?

Hey, PrexicKehdaki... sorry for the delay in my response - I haven't been on for a couple of weeks.

You might not notice if you only catch the Office now and then. It's actually pretty much my favorite show so I've seen all of them.

Early on in the series when they first more or less introduced Angela's character they were playing a game that if you were stuck... somewhere, I don't remember... island maybe... and you could only bring one book what book would you bring - and Angela said the Bible and the Purpose Driven Life. There are references every now and then to her going to church. It's not real overdone and so I guess that's why it doesn't bother me too much. That and the fact that it's such a funny show. Plus I know that there really are Christians who act like that, but it's sad that that's how people see us.

My wife has bought me the first few seasons on DVD and there was a deleted scene that I saw that is a little more pointed - but I won't expound on it. It was probably good that it was deleted.

I thought "referring to a white person in such a way is a tos."
I guess I need to keep up more with my slang terms. I thought that the term refered to a generic racist, not specifically a white one.

As to the OP, I can understand the RCC being upset by it, believing in transsubstantiation as they do. Probably those who hold to a consubstantiation (Lutherern) position would be upset also.

I hold to a symbolic position with nothing intrinsicly spiritual in the matzah or wine.

What I find offensive is the growing attitude of limiting my expression of faith because someone else MIGHT find that offensive.

Sometimes it's fun to beat out the evening national newscasts that everyone may watch. This is not so fun to address, and yet it is offensive simply in its insensitivity to other. The posting up of a bunch of campaign posters and such near a location such as the western Wailing Wall, some bearing your own name in the host country's language, prior to giving a speech nearby. Thanks, Barac, for waving your campaign off from doing that. Oh, you didn't? Well, be sure to give a blanketing apology to any who might have been offended, and that of course you gave no directions to do so, and regret it happening. I find that offensive, to campaign near a location that exists for other purposes than political agenda, and to ask that we all try to learn to live peacefully together at the same time.

Offensive to me is when people claim to be Christian yet are lazy in work, hateful, or just worldly. I find it offensive that they claim to be a representative of my Lord and yet show not signs of knowing Him or even caring about being repetitive and following Him. I have been known to mention it to people before. Even caused one guy to walk off the job then come back after talking to the manager. He did actually work after that though and was not totally lazy. Other than that I find it offensive that if I do something that may offend someone and may not have I am wrong because I am Christian yet it is not wrong for anyone else to offend me. Seems just a bit one sided there. Dont dare offend a Muslim or atheist by mentioning Jesus yet who cares if you offend me by taking my Lords name in vain or saying I am not allowed to share my religion in school yet any other religion being taught is about tolerance and we should learn about other religions but never learn about Jesus or the Bible. And of course lets teach in public schools the unproven and unprovable TOE yet not offer other explanations. Teach them about condoms and sex but dont tell them that they can abstain from sex till married if they wish and that way avoid teen pregnancy.
